Chapter 20- Boss Monster (Part 2)
"That should be the last one. I only need to kill it and level up." Reo muttered as he eyed one of the last few Uruvs alive.
He along with Cassia just went rampage, murdering all the monsters that tried to attack them. It was quite easy even with their huge numbers. Being careful of the claws is more than enough for them to be able to completely overpower the Uruvs and kill them.
Now, it came down to the last monster.
"Raaa!!" The level 2 Uruv screeched as it started retreating slowly and trying to find a way to escape. It didn't need any amazing intelligence to know that it was in a very bad situation. Running was the only way for it to get out unscathed from this fight.
Reo peeked at the girl beside him before he said.
"Be my guest."
Cassia nodded her head and opened her hand, lightning started moving quickly, charging up to a dangerous level. The Uruv saw that and finally couldn't wait any longer. It looked behind it and started running away as fast as it could.
For a level 2 monster, it was actually pretty fast, even faster than Reo and Cassia who were higher than it level-wise. That shows that being above someone in level doesn't mean that you are better than them in all departments.
Each creature in Paradise Online has a specialty that they are particularly good at, just like how talents work in the real world. Everyone is good at something and bad at another.
*Crackle*
Cassia immediately extended her arm and blasted the lightning ball toward the Uruv. The ball flew swiftly and smashed into the monster, knocking it down.
The monster tried to wake up and keep running away for its life. However, a silhouette suddenly loomed over it from above. The monster looked up slowly with fear creeping into its heart and crippling its movements.
Reo looked at it for a moment. He felt a slight pity for the monster, he wasn't that repulsed by killing this creature but he was still a human being and the look of fear on the monster's face made him feel as if he was the bad guy in this situation.
However, slight pity was in the end just slight pity, nothing could change its fate.
*Smash*
With a single kick, he smashed the monster's head like an egg and splattered bits and pieces of the Uruv's skull everywhere.
"This never gets any less messy," Reo muttered as he shook his head to get rid of the blood and the brain matter that got stuck on his shoe.

Reo took a look at the notifications before he closed them and called for Cassia.
"We should be able to enter the boss room now." He said as he wiped the blood from his face. He had spent 5 hours inside the game which is around 2 hours or less in the real world.
He really wanted to finish this boss monster fight and leave Paradise Online to sleep. Staying in a VR world for a long time does make a person miss the fresh air of the real world. It was a natural reaction.
"I am ready. Be careful, this monster is nowhere near as weak as these monsters are." She said as she eyed a particularly dark and ominous area two miles away from them.
"Ok, let's go." Reo cracked his fingers with an excited smile and started running toward the boss.
"Boss monster, here I come." He shouted.
Cassia watched him from behind and sighed.
"Is he going to ever grow up?" She asked no one in particular and then started running after him.
The two ran for a few minutes before they finally reached the boss area. It was very quiet and eerie that it actually sent a shiver down the duo's spine.
After that, a window finally appeared to warn them that they were entering a boss area and that they should be ready.

Reo didn't waste any time and hit accept with a wide smile. He is finally going to have an actually thrilling fight for the first time in a while. The last time he struggled with a fight was when he fought his grandfather. The beating he took that day was unforgettable.
Cassia followed suit and the two immediately were able to enter the boss area as the barrier that stopped them vanished.
The place was not really that different than the outside, just vast plains and a few boulders and rocks here and there.
"Where is the boss? I can't see it anywhere." Reo muttered under his breath as he looked around.
Then, as if answering his question, a loud earthquake erupted in the place. It was sudden and extremely violent to the point where it almost threw Reo and Cassia on the ground.
Then, in the center of the area, cracks appeared and started spreading quickly. From beneath the ground, a silhouette at least 10 meters tall started rising slowly.
Reo couldn't see its form clearly under the darkness of the night but he was sure of one thing.
"It's an Uruv… A chunky one. Damn, that boy is fat. I might want to squeeze its fur after I kill it." He exclaimed.
Cassia sighed as she tapped her head in exasperation. She thought Reo would take this seriously but he was clearly just joking around and having fun. He totally forgot that this 'chunky boy' could crush his bones and skin him alive in a fit of rage.
The monster finally stood tall at its full height and looked down at the two humans with clear fury. It had the same features as an Uruv, just bigger and more ferocious-looking. It had thicker skin and stronger claws that shined under the light of the full moon.
[Uruv King.]
[Level 8.]
[100/100]
"Guraaaaa!!!!!!!!!" It screeched loudly, the sound alone made the whole place shake as if it was getting hit by another earthquake.
"Wow, he looks fucking scary. I am going first." Reo said and without waiting he ran toward the monster.
"Guraaa!!!" Seeing how a human was approaching it, the boss grabbed a boulder and threw it at Reo with its full strength.
*Swish* *Booooommm*
The boulder smashed into the place where Reo should've been standing and carved a big hole into the ground.
"Here, here!! I am here, chunky Uruv." Reo shouted from another place.
The monster was confused at first at how he was able to evade that attack so effortlessly but it shook its head and dashed toward him. If throwing rocks didn't work then smashing him with brute arm force it is.
*Bang* *Bang*
Each step it took was like a small earthquake happening. When it reached Reo, the boss smashed down with both arms.
*Crack* *Boom*
The smash rendered the whole place into pure dust.
It thought that that hit should've been more than enough to kill him. However…
"Too slow, I am he-"
*Swish*
The boss swiped with its arms without waiting for Reo to even complete his sentence.
"Come on, I was about to say a cheesy line but you ruined it. Anyway, it's my turn now." The boy spoke again from a different place.
*Swish*
He dashed toward the monster's arm and jumped into the air landing straight on its shoulder. After that, he started running up its body to reach its head.
"GRAAAA!!!!"
The monster lost it and punched with the left hand down on Reo.
"Hop." He jumped again and landed on the other fist and continued running.
Meanwhile, Cassia didn't sit idling around and close the distance between her and the monster too.
