"This is really getting slightly boring now." Reo thought as he cracked his neck with a sigh. He had been hunting Uruvs with Cassia for a good 2 hours so it started getting boring and also very repetitive.
"A few more and we should be able to reach level 5," Cassia said with her cold and checked her profile to see her exp and also her stats.
Reo nodded his head and also opened his profile to also see his stats. He had leveled up once during this hunt and was very close to level 5.

"Nice. I can feel myself getting stronger and faster. I might break the game soon, hehe." He muttered under his breath with a chuckle. He was obviously joking as he never really thought about whether his speed of improvement was fast or not. He simply wants to enjoy himself and other things are simply not that important to him.
Then, he closed the window and looked at Cassia who sat down and pulled out something from her pocket. She had a small pouch that she created from Uruvs skin. He had never thought that doing that was a possibility.
'She is really a smart person. Weird but smart.' He thought to himself.
His eyes then shifted to the sky, darkness was finally falling and the moon was rising in the sky replacing the sun with its faint silver light.
What she pulled out was a bunch of small branches of trees. In the Plains Of Tranquility, players can find trees scattered across the whole map but they weren't that easy to find.
Anyway, Cassia planted two branches and then put another branch on top of them. Reo watched her silently, waiting for what she was intending to do. After that, she put many branches under it to create what seemed to be a small campfire.
*Crackle*
She used her lightning skill and ignited a small ember of flame in the branches. Her hands then moved to one of the Uuruvs that she killed and started skinning it. She didn't need a knife because of its small frame and also her impressive strength.
"Are you really going to eat that? Is it even eatable?"
Uruvs didn't really look like tasty creatures to consume. Their faces alone could be the subject of people's nightmares.
"Won't know if I don't try." She replied casually as she skewered the Uruv in the branch and started cooking it.
The two sat silently as they looked at the tongues of fire dancing silently and cooking the meat.
"Neh." Reo suddenly spoke.
Cassia didn't say anything and merely kept looking at the fire with a lonely look. Her eyes looked slightly sad and melancholic.
"Have you tried Paradise Online before?" He asked.
He had this suspicion since he met Cassia and it never left his mind at all. He thought she might've had the opportunity to test it before all the masses because of her background.
The girl shifted her gaze to look at Reo for a moment with her usual calm look. Then, she looked back at the campfire again.
"Why do you ask?"
"Just curious."
"Hmm, I can only say that I know more than most people about this world."
Her response was very mysterious as she didn't really reveal anything worthy of mentioning. Reo looked even more confused so he tried to pry further.
"What do you mean?"
"As I said, I have more knowledge about this world than anyone else at the moment. Do with that statement whatever you want."
"... I see." He muttered and didn't try to ask anymore since she seemed to not be that keen on the idea of spilling her secret out to him.
As they talked, the Uruv seemed to be ready for eating. Cassia pulled it out and then shredded it to pieces with her bare hands. She even ignored the heat coming from the freshly cooked meat.
After that, she threw a part of it to Reo.
"Eat." She said and then started eating the piece of meat. As much as she was brute with her methods when dealing with the Uuruv, her way of eating was very elegant and very beautiful to watch. Such contrast existing in one single person wasn't something seen every day in a person.
Reo looked at the meat in his hand with a hesitant look. But, he closed his eyes and took a bite, and waited for the worst to happen. However…
"Delicious!! What the hell? This is amazing." He exclaimed with a surprised look.
The tenderness of the meat and the taste were just phenomenal, to say the least. He had never tasted meat this delicious.
"Uruvs are known for their tasty meat," Cassia said casually and took another bite.
Reo nodded his head with a happy smile and wolfed down the whole piece of meat quickly. He wasn't the most elegant eater since he lived most of his life in a village but it didn't really make him look disgusting but instead added a weird charm to his innocent-looking face. He just reassembled a kid enjoying a tasty meal.
As he ate like that, Cassia watched him silently. Then, under her breath, with a voice so low that she even didn't hear, she said.
"No matter where or when, you always stay yourself, Reo." Her eyes softened for a moment and then continued eating.
After finishing their meal, they stood up and readied themselves to continue hunting to reach level 5 and unlock the boss monster area.
"Sigh, searching for some Uruvs is gonna be tedious," Reo murmured with a reluctant tone.
"I don't think we will need to actually search for them," Cassia replied and pointed in a particular direction.
There, many eyes could be seen shining under the light of the moon… Eyes filled with blood lust.
"Oh, well. Let's finish this."
*Crack*

Rena read the last two notifications and then looked at the goddess and said.
"Is that the inheritance you have been talking about?"
Cerelia nodded her head as she responded.
"It is not the same power that I have but the base of that power. I can't just give you all of my power since your mortal body can't handle it."
"What could happen if you gave me your power."
"Time laws would probably shred your body to pieces and then make each part explode into small particles."
Her gory response made Rena shudder slightly.
"Ok, I should've not asked."
"Fufufufu, don't worry, I will never give you something that could harm you. You are my lovely daughter, after all."
Rena blushed slightly at Cerelia's gentle look. She really didn't know how to deal with such sudden affection from a person she didn't know very well. But, she wasn't that against it as the feelings feel really genuine from Cerelia.
"Anyway, I think my mission here is finally over. I can finally leave this world without any regrets."
"Leave? Are you going to die?!"
"Fufufu, not yet. But, I think my time is near. A few more years and I will also die. All is left in your hands, my princess. But… Before I leave, can I request a small thing from you?"
"Hm? What is it?"
"Can you… call me 'mother' once?"
"Mmm, fine… M-Mother." Rena stuttered from sheer embarrassment but still said it.
*Drop*
Cerelia's eyes suddenly started tearing up. However, she immediately wiped them and smiled sweetly at Rena.
"Goodbye, Rena. It was nice meeting you, my daughter."
Then, as if she never existed, Cerelia's silhouette dissapeared leaving behind nothing but sparkling drops of what seemed to be tears… Tears of regret.
