CHAPTER 004: The First King

That man established a government whose sole purpose was to maintain peace in the land of Seerian. He created the law and ordinance with the allies he fought with. He had his promise fulfilled. People from Seerian were grateful, they were glorious, and the hell was gone. He became their savior.

Everyone wanted him to rule them.

That man was eventually crowned as the First King.

There was a conflict about where to build his castle. There were four countries.

Everybody wanted him.

He built castles in each of the four countries.

However, he could not divide his body into four, so he would always travel to stay in those castles to assure people.

They wanted him to have an heir.

Each country offered its best woman.

He could not marry just one or it would spark discrimination.

He married women in each country.

However, it was known that the woman he loved the most was the woman who came from Menotalis.

People accepted that.

After all, the First King grew and was raised under the Menotalian couple.

His embodiments came mostly from Menotalis.

The woman from Menotalis became the main wife and was crowned the Queen.

The First King could not travel frequently, he had to look out for his queen who was pregnant. He commanded his wives from different countries to settle in one country with him.

Vortrion was the chosen land for them to reside in since he was born there. Everyone in his family began to live there.

A kingdom cannot be vacated, with no ruler it would be trivial to have a monarchy. Tolireams demanded that the next king should live in the Toliream. Dytalicians demanded the next king should reign in their country. Menotalians usually remain silent in this kind of situation, but they demanded the next king should be theirs.

The First King promised them a ruler… they should wait though.

The Queen had two sons. One of them became the crown prince of Vortrion and one became the crown prince of Menotalis.

The women in the harem bore the seed of the new generation. The other concubines had their sons chosen to become crown princes in the country based on their origins.

The three kingdoms celebrated...while Toliream voiced a concern.

'If each of the kingdoms would have its own ruler, how could we become peaceful for a long time?' They stated. 'The situation would naturally induce another conflict of differences.'

They wanted to be united, but they also wanted to keep their individualism.

Various solutions were tackled.

One was that the majority had agreed; Vortrion royalties could only have princes. The other three kingdoms could only have princesses.

Every new generation, a bride of selection should be implemented in Vortrion.

The elders should decide on the pairing. However, there were circumstances where the prince and princess found themselves compatible with one another.

Either way, the best interest of the Seerian was always the priority.

This became more than just a law. It was a sacred tradition on the continent.

Countless events would happen in Seerian. They could forget or stop or change. There was one thing that could never be tampered with.

The bride selection was very essential, it determined who would be the next ruler of the countries.

Every twenty-five years the bride selection would happen. The next generation of Seerian's monarchy had to come together.

After the marriage, the crown prince and princess would acquaint themselves for a maximum period of ten years under the guidance of the current ruler to become the next monarch who would rule the kingdom. After reigning for two to three decades the king and queen could retire from their duty and live peacefully without the shackles of being royalty.

Of course, they could choose to rule longer but most of the kings and queens would choose to just live without pressure and pass the duty on to the younger generation.

It was polished.

Everything was settled by the First King as if he had foreseen every conflict that the nation could face. He prepared everything so flawlessly before he retired from being the king and lived harmoniously with his wife.

Presently, a millennium had passed since the First King reigned. The stories of his heroism were distorted in many versions, but all had their common denominator. He succeeded and made this continent the most peaceful land there was.

Seerian was united and each country remains distinct from the others. This nation was perfect.

However, as time moved, nothing was permanent but changed.

The perfect country that the First King established had loopholes.

On its appearance, Seerian was the epitome of tranquility.

Inside, there would always be an insurgency.

That was what drove some of the younger generations to dream of becoming the next king of their kingdom, a status that had the power that could stir the inner court, and the ability to be able to change their country.

Even some of the princesses wanted to become the king of their land.

»Mother, what is your dream?«

»Me?«

The beautiful woman stopped brushing the girl's hair.

»Yes.« The girl nodded her head and turned to look at the woman.

»I wanted to become a king.« The gorgeous woman smiled nostalgically.

»Like father?«

The gorgeous woman's smile receded.

»...yes, like your father. What is your dream, my Princess?« She widened her smile not to let the little girl notice the despondent in her eyes.

The little girl did, she saw the disappointment in her mother's eyes. She pretended not to see anything and laughed.

»Hihi.«

»Why are you giggling, is your dream funny?«

»My dream is silly, Mother.«

»No, it can't be. What is it?«

The girl paused, »If a mother can't become a king, I can't become what I dream of.«

»What is your dream, my dear daughter?«

The gorgeous woman gazed straight into the eyes of the little girl. The seriousness of the woman's eyes made the little girl's expression momentous. She blinked her eyes, and a blaze of excitement covered her countenance.

»I want to become the King of Seerian.«
