CHAPTER 006: Pillow

"Tone down your voice Liezel." The second Princess warned her, but Princess Liezel was unfazed. She glared daggers in Princess Yanarym's direction.

"Why? It is not like anyone could hear me; this area is similar to a cemetery. And no one comes here anymore except for us."

The third Princess was reckless, selfish, and stupid. She never thought about the aftermath of her actions. More than anything else, she never suffered the consequences of her deeds.

"I don't think I can leave here without seeing that vermin die."

"Don't say any more, Liezel." Princess Jasmine replied and momentarily shifted her attention to the incense. She lit it up herself because her sister was assigned to do this task… was hopeless as expected.

Although she agreed with what her sister said that Princess Yanarym should die tonight, she could do nothing about it. Their mother's order was absolute. The first Princess should die, nevertheless, it should appear as accidental or natural death to the investigation.

"We better leave, no one knows we came here, staying here for too long. Someone might suspect us." The second Princess said as soon as she inflamed the stick of poison.

"What? Are you scared of Yanarym? She's already no one, Jasmine. She's just an ornament of this palace." Princess Liezel said, glaring at the first Princess' location.

"Enough of you, Liezel. The incense is burning, we should hurry out—"

Princess Liezel dragged her heavy skirt and without a second thought, she slapped Princess Yanarym's face with all the force she could use. She grimaced as her palm landed on the first Princess' cheek, the impact of her hand on Princess Yanarym's face was garish.

"That hurts! You impudent orphan!" The third Princess screamed at the sick princess who could not respond to her.

Princess Liezel was so irritated by everything that she grabbed Princess Yanarym's hair and pulled it harshly to relieve the anger welling within her.

"LIEZEL!"

The second Princess shouted after seeing that her sister was harming the first Princess.

"LIEZEL, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" She scurried to Princess Liezel's location and looked at Princess Yanarym.

She saw the handprint of Princess Liezel's palm on Princess Yanarym's reddening left cheek.

"Why aren't you listening?! You left a mark on her body!" Princess Jasmine firmly said.

Her eyes narrowed on her sister's agitated expression as her hands turned fists. They should not be doing anything against their mother's order, she turned to see Princess Yanarym's state once again.

Convulsing, her face had a slap mark, her hair was messy, she was sweating all over, she was desperate to breathe some air, and she looked in a lot of pain.

Princess Jasmine could feel the subtle discord in her heart. The first Princess was one of the biggest hindrances to her life. Although there was this urge not to cease her sister from tormenting this woman, she could not just stand by.

They must follow what the Queen told them.

"So what?! It's just a slap! She has been irking my nerves ever since we were young! If she's not going to die tonight, I will aggravate her a little more, so she will just give up her pathetic life by herself!" The third Princess burst. There was the twinge on her palm as the after-effect of slapping someone, the satisfaction was so fulfilling.

"Don't be too hard on her, she's dying."

"Yes! She's dying! —NO! She's already dead! We just need to do one more push to make her perish, Jasmine! Let's just kill her, she can't even open her eyes!"

"Don't be so hard-headed, Liezel. Did you not heed what Mother told us? She's agonizing in her current condition; do you want to get haunted by her ghost once she dies?" Princess Jasmine said, "Why are you in such a hurry to kill her? She will die eventually."

"Jasmine! What are you so scared of? Really?!" Princess Liezel snarled at her older sister's yapping. "This is why she's not dead yet because you are a sissy! You've been trying to kill her since you were young! How old are you now!"

Princess Jasmine glinted; the truth was their mother was trying to kill the first Princess since they came to the kingdom. That was when her sister was eight and she was nine.

It had been ten years since they were poisoning Princess Yanarym hoping that the next day they would wake up and find her body decomposing in this forsaken castle.

"We're eighteen! No, I'm eighteen and you are nineteen! We are old enough to get married! Why are we letting this pest live longer than she should be!?"

Princess Jasmine did not say a word. There was no excuse for the matter of Princess Yanarym's death. In her mind, she could not help but taunt her sister's statement.

The third Princess had just recently joined her in this duty, Liezel knew nothing about what she was saying. The second Princess had been doing this chore for years, yet she never complained because it was a foolproof scheme.

This foolish sister of hers could not recognize that brilliant plan. She was just a sniveler. She would whine about every single thing that was assigned to her. It was starting to seep on Princess Jasmine's nerves.

"She'll die eventually. What a jest! And the ghost, ha! I'm gonna be a Queen, wife of Vortrion King! Why would I be scared of such a pest?" Princess Liezel huffed.

Princess Jasmine raised an eyebrow upon hearing her sister claim the throne for herself. Queen of Vortrion?

Every princess in Seerian wanted that throne. That was the most powerful place for a princess. How could a fool sit on that glorious chair?

The third Princess slapped Princess Yanarym once more, she did not see the contempt in Princess Jasmine's eyes directed at her. She was too occupied with tormenting the first Princess.

"See? She couldn't respond, she's as good as dead." The third Princess suddenly took the pillow on the bed and placed the pillow on Princess Yanarym's face.

"Liezel, what are you doing?" Princess Jasmine asked, seeing that her sister was pressing the pillow too hard.

The first Princess began to struggle, but the third Princess was not retracting.

"Don't just watch there! Help me!" Princess Liezel screamed when Princess Yanarym was struggling too strongly.
