CHAPTER 007: First Princess Is Dead

The second Princess panicked, but she proceeded to hold both of Princess Yanarym's hands, thwarting her from fighting back or resisting.

Princess Liezel put all her weight on the pillow and seconds after, the first Princess stopped moving.

They were in a trance for minutes.

"She's d-de-dead?" Princess Liezel stammered. "Yanarym's dead, isn't she?"

The second Princess shifted her eyes in the first Princess's direction; she was not moving at all, with no trace of life. It felt like a dream…

Princess Yanarym died.

Princess Jasmine was struck by the realization.

She cursed in her head.

Princess Yanarym was murdered by them. Their mother strictly gave them orders not to touch the first Princess; because the royal physician would be able to find out if she passed away due to natural causes or intentional ones.

Princess Liezel looked at Yanarym who was still covered with a pillow on her face. The main point was that the first Princess finally died. No one saw their murder, all was good, right?

'No, nothing is good! Jasmine's screwed, we are screwed!'

The third Princess was agitated; she was harshly burying her nails in her skin as her hands trembled.

She grabbed her older sister's arm, "Let's get out of here."

Both of them run out of the boudoir and away from the Adamas Palace.

Princess Liezel kept on trembling, and she noticed her big sister had been unresponsive.

"Jasmine, why aren't you talking? What should we do? What should we say to Mother? Should we tell mother about this? We shouldn't, right? Right?"

"Jasmine! Talk to me! I'm so damn nervous, what should we do? Should we keep this secret until Mother asks, should we tell her? Keeping it to ourselves is better, right?"

Princess Jasmine pressed her lips. "Yes."

"What do you mean, yes? Yes, we should keep this to ourselves…? Yes, we should tell her, or yes, what?! Answer me! Don't keep me guessing because my head is not functioning right now."

"I'm thinking, Liezel. Stop being hysterical and calm down." Princess Jasmine said and pulled her left arm away from her stupid sister's grasp.

"Mother will be infuriated if she found out we forcefully killed Yanarym."

'If you know that much you should've not done it in the first place.'

They managed to step out of the castle as both of their adrenaline rushes disappeared. They were scared by the aftereffect of what they had done, but the first Princess was finally dead, at least.

'Who am I trying to fool? This is bad.'

This was the first time she killed someone; a mistake she should acknowledge. Princess Jasmine looked at her trembling hands.

"Let's tell Mother. We are not sure of the consequences of what we've done." She gawked at the person who caused this mess.

Princess Liezel was as pale as paper; she was nowhere in a good state of mind as well. This was not the first time she killed someone by fury, but this was the first time she killed a high-ranking member of the royal family. She also concluded that there might be a reason for her mother's persistent resilience over ten years. What if she made the mistake of murdering the first Princess?

'No! I did nothing wrong. I just did what Mother asked me to do. Kill Yanarym. I did it, I killed her. I did something good. Right, this is not my fault.'

Her Queen Mother had assigned them to get rid of Princess Yanarym; she had to go with Princess Jasmine ever since she turned eighteen to that filthy palace. She was doing the chore of inflaming the miasmatic incense, while her older sister was designated to the meal containing lethal medicines.

The pest had been alive for months already. She had had enough of this exasperating errand! Princess Liezel would be compelled to act impulsively. If she were put in the same situation earlier, she knew she would do it again.

Princess Yanarym had to die today.

"Why did you even do it?" Princess Jasmine said, "You and your temper always bring us to this kind of situation!"

"Don't blame me. You didn't even stop me." Princess Liezel replied in anger, "It's your fault!"

Princess Jasmine lowered her eyes which contained enmity; this was why she disliked Princess Liezel. When something happened wrong whether it was accidentally or intentionally, she was the one who was held accountable for it.

"This isn't the time for pointing fingers," Princess Jasmine said.

"You're the first one who pointed a finger, you blamed it on me and my temper! And now you don't want to tackle pointing fingers?! Funny!" Princess Liezel huffed.

'How am I supposed to respond to what you did? Praise you for killing the first Princess? I clearly told you to stop, and you never listened. Of course, I will blame you because you initiated pressing that pillow on her face.' Princess Jasmine retorted within her mind, 'And of course, you will not take the blame. How could you do that when you're the perfect princess? The favorite child.'

When Princess Jasmine was born, Queen Eriela was dissatisfied with her appearance. She was not disfigured; she was not ugly. Princess Jasmine just looked nothing like her mother, she looked a lot more like the King who was as good as nothing for Queen Eriela.

As much as her mother despised her appearance, Princess Jasmine did not like the way she looked as well. She did not like very bits of herself. She did not want her black hair or her green eyes; she hated to be the smart daughter; she did not want to look strict or be aware of her surroundings. She would have preferred to be her sister instead; beautiful, blonde, adorable, damsel in distress, foolish, spoiled!

She wanted to be Liezel. She did not want to be who she was today.

Queen Eriela insisted that a woman's gorgeous body and demure, quiet, obedient, and submissive personality should be her most prized possessions. Among all the physical characteristics of a royal, blue eyes and blonde hair were usually the most prominent. Allegedly, the First King had that appearance.
