CHAPTER 012: Survived

The place was in its usual scattered condition, the carpet was so full of dust that the footprints of the recent visitors were trailed on it. The furniture on the shelves was unmoved, and the paintings were slightly slanted. The first Princess's dreary bedchamber was only stirred by the hot soup and the smoke of incense. The humid and oppressive atmosphere, along with the motionless body on the disordered bed, was cloaked by the fumes from the soup and incense.

Like a crime scene… she did a really good job of making the ambiance like this.

'Guide-sama, you can let my heart beat any moment now.'

"Hah!" Yanarym abruptly rose from the bed and was hovering desperately for air. "Oh, my sh*t! My heart stopped for so long! I thought I died! "

Guide-sama: "You almost did."

She punched her chest and turned to look at the side table where there was food served. It was still oozing. She was not that long gone?

Right after when her heart stopped functioning, she fell into the infinite darkness, she was back in the void. Yanarym thought she failed another world but because Guide-sama was not there with her she assumed she was not dead yet.

She did not know what happened, but she kept on reaching out to Guide-sama.

Thank goodness, she was able to do so.

The weird thing was she felt like she just dreamt about being in the void. She knew it happened because it was so vivid but still it felt like a somehow long dream. She could not measure how long. She could not explain it, it felt like she was in that darkness for quite some time but on the other hand…not really.

She looked around and saw that the incense stick was at half height. She was not in consciousness for just that time?

She coughed painfully and felt her lungs want to evacuate her body, she covered her mouth with her sleeves, and the blood-stained her.

"Drinking that drug to make my heart voluntarily stop is very deadly, I should lessen the dose if I am gonna do it again."

Guide-sama: "Are you seriously considering doing it again?"

"There could be situations like this in the future, also if anything goes wrong, you're there to revive me."

Guide-sama: "I don't want to do this again."

"Anyways, Jasmine brought me that, right? My poisoned meal. "

Guide-sama: "Listen to me!"

"It's still warm. She's killing me with consideration. Jasmine brought it, Guide-sama? If it's Liezel I'm sure she'll bring a cold soup."

Guide-sama: "Yes, Princess Jasmine came with it earlier."

She nudged her neck, it felt stiff because of the force Liezel applied earlier.

"Great, I'm hungry."

Guide-sama: "Yanarym, how many times should I tell you that you can't die if it's not time yet? You haven't even accomplished your task at this challenging level, and you wanted another difficult world?" Yanarym coughed as she heard Guide-sama's robotic voice. She thought that Guide-sama would not mind and would not nag about her recent activities.

She thought wrong.

"I didn't die. Stop nagging me. My head hurts."

Guide-sama: "I'm the one who's having a headache here. You're too frivolous. You let them suffocate you, and you keep on eating poisoned food!"

"Shut up~ my head's cracking! I did not die, okay?! I'm so hungry too."

Three weeks since she arrived in this world, unfortunately, nothing out of the ordinary had happened in Original's life.

Upon observation and contemplation, she decided that she had to take a step toward and initiate a change.

Luckily, Liezel, that very impatient girl took the bait, and with this move, should finally move forward with her plan.

Guide-sama: " You did not inform me of what you were trying to do. You almost die. Your heart was not beating for twelve minutes."

"That's what the qoploi drug does, it makes my heart stop. It's part of the plan."

Guide-sama: "What plan? Tell me what your plans are!"

"All right, calm down. Don't be too frantic."

Guide-sama: "I'm not. Talk. What's going on?"

"I needed a reason to change my personality and my attitude." Yanarym explained, "The only way to do that was coming back to life."

Guide-sama: "You want to modify the personality of the Original?"

"Yes, before I become a king. I need to change. I must fight; I am not going to have the crown by smiling and being a nice person. I will have to rise from the ashes. I've gotta fight back who would go on my way. And despite the Original having a high ambition, she's not that fierce. I will be ferocious for her. How can she become a ruler if she couldn't even save her life from those bullies?"

Yanarym elucidated dryly as if she was telling a boring story.

"Speaking of bullying, Liezel is such a common villain, isn't she? How could she slap me that hard?"

Guide-sama: "She tried to kill you by squashing you in the pillow! And you are more concerned about being slapped?"

"Yeah, that too. But the slap was much more painful than the pillow."

Guide-sama: "Why are you so easygoing about this?"

"I'm not, I'm not, I'm thinking of my plans, just wait for it, give me more time, it's not that simple to become a king you know..."

Guide-sama: "I'm hoping that you are still alive by that time."

"Of course. By the way, I have to head out of this castle."

Guide-sama: "Right now? Again? You're still sick."

"I'm not gonna heal by just sleeping all day. I need to eat. I need resources and medicine."

Guide-sama: "Medicine? Is it medicine or poison you are trying to buy?"

"What? You are still not done lecturing me?"

Guide-sama: "I am not lecturing you."

"I'm stating facts."

Guide-sama: "Me too."

"Did I not tell you that poison is my necessity to survive?"

Guide-sama: "You did, but is it necessary for you to consume different kinds of poison every day? You are about to eat one right now."
