CHAPTER 018: Voice

Yanarym ignored Guide-sama and concentrated on Eriela. The Queen here was representing the clothing of some queen fashion style in the medieval era in some foreign country.

Yanarym was not familiar with the details, but Eriela looked exactly like a Disney queen. Which was ironic since she was the victimized and the orphan young girl here. But Yanarym could visualize Queen Eriela as the real-life Cinderella figure because of her blue pastel gown, amenable demeanor, soft aquatic eyes, and blonde hair.

The princesses were wearing a similar category to the queen—a medieval style but was not as lavish as their mother's. The maidservants had a similar outfit to Aliah, the cosplay of a maid. While the guards were wearing a set of uniforms similar to the formal clothes of a military. In addition to that were the three officials in the national dress of the Philippines.

Yanarym had guessed about it yet...

There was really a cultural shock for her just looking at these various people. It was not exactly what she had expected from what she studied in those books. Experiencing this firsthand; it felt like she was traveling in time or there was a cosplay convention happening near the location. And these people were just cosplaying…

'It feels weird to be here.'

The capital was just as diverse, various people wore different styles of clothes, and distinct physical traits, accents, and mannerisms. But maybe because the people in the kingdom were fancier and hierarchical; and… she could not explain but she felt the experience was intensified.

And now that she was at it, the princesses and the queen including her; looked like Europeans—that was where most of the blondies lived. Distinctive from them; the rest were Menotalians' features, with tan skin, and dark hair.

The books mentioned it more than once, but royalty looked different from the others.

"Princess Yanarym, please answer me. I am worried about you." Queen Eriela said.

"Yanarym, I was really worried about you. And now that you seemed fine. The ministers and the others didn't have to stay, everyone should leave the quarters of the first Princess." The third Princess added.

That reminded everyone that they were in the princess boudoir, the place where men were not allowed to enter. However, because Queen Eriela said there was an emergency it could become an exception. But if the first Princess was fine, there was no need for them to be here.

It had been ten years since that mandatory was implemented and most of the retainers of the monarchy forgot the custom. A custom where princesses were not allowed to associate with males unless it was their father who was the king.

This could cause them to disgrace her reputation if they were seen near the opposite sex. Princess Jasmine and Princess Liezel become an exemption since they grew up in the aristocracy where men and women could freely socialize. Queen Eriela did not forbid the interaction when they became the next monarchy.

Princess Yanarym was an exception to that change of regime. She was the first Princess of the Menotalis, the only daughter of the recent monarch. She was born as a princess, unlike the second and third Princesses. She had to follow the custom.

That meant Princess Yanarym had never seen another man in her life other than King Rashio and she should not interact with the male populace until she was eligible to do so.

This was the first time that someone interacted with her after such a long decade. They were excited to greet and admire the descendant of Queen Eulasha.

Although that was the case, none of the guards, the maids, ladies-in-waiting, or even the royal physicians dared to gaze straight at the first Princess.

Those who could directly see her were the two other princesses and Queen Eriela.

As soon as the men realized that; they took a step back and bowed their heads lower, almost bending their bodies ninety degrees, not daring to look up and observe the first Princess' situation.

One of the men who were wearing the official uniform inhaled deeply and gathered courage.

"Is the princess really well? She is not talking or responding to the Queen. Princess Yanarym, should we let the royal physician examine you?" The head of the royal physician flinched when he was mentioned.

The guards and maidservants hesitated to leave after hearing that query. Since they all were bowing their heads when they entered the bedchamber of the princess; they were not aware of what entirely was transpiring.

The first Princess was rumored to become timid and frigid after the burial of her parents. Some claimed that she became mute and deaf. It was only natural for them to take advantage of this rare opportunity and make sure that their beloved princess was in a good shape.

"Minister Renato," Queen Eriela had an awkward laugh. "A royal physician is not necessary. The first Princess is all right. We already made a huge commotion for her in the early morning. We should consider her welfare and leave the palace."

"Your Majesty, it is better to be certain that the first Princess's condition is healthy. That would make a humble servant like me of this kingdom at ease. Please grant my selfish request."

"That is so nice of you, Minister Renato but I do not think Yanarym would want that, she did not want anyone here at her palace. She will not appreciate your concern…" Princess Liezel said but paused amid her sentence when Queen Eriela signaled her to stop talking.

"Naturally, the first Princess needs to be examined. We should save the trouble since Royal Physician Fredric is already here with us..." The royal physician moved forward and was about to raise his head to look for the first Princess.

"There's no need for the doctor." A delicate yet firm voice overlapped the Queen's utterance.

Everyone was stunned.

The voice neither belonged to the queen nor the second Princess and third Princess. No one heard it before, but they reflexively knew it belonged to the first Princess.

The hearts of the people in the enormous yet crowded place rippled.
