Chapter 33: A Misunderstanding
Perseus POV
"I've got another question." Maple asked "Are you and Leilah...dating?"
"No, didn't I just told you, we're good friends."
"Your face was too happy at the mention of my older sister."
Older? Right, the roses was created first before the seasonal gods are born, so the roses are technically the gods' elder siblings, even if they're weaker.
"I'm here mostly just to sate my curiosity why my sister is contacting you anyway, it's been really long since she was ever seen, everyone separated when those 2 also..." she then trailed off
Those 2? Who is she referring to? Her parents, the primordial gods? It seems something else is happening behind the scene based on her crestfallen expression, this world is truly full of mysteries.
Though also on my bucket list, if I go back, I'm going down the deepest depths of the ocean just to really see what's under there.
"By the way, if every rose knows the impossible requirement of Leilah, does that mean the other lords will know what I actually am once I am blessed with her power?"
"Well yes, but when I was younger, the rose also swore an oath." she replied "Some secrets, one of which is her requirement, are to be kept secret even from their own lord and they can only mention it between themselves, to the lord's candidate or the chosen lord, so I've assumed Ruka mention it to you...but I wouldn't worry about anyone else apart from the roses and the us gods to speak out about it unless you do it yourself, you can enjoy a happy life on my continent."
An oath? That's usually not promising, but mythical figures seem to keep their oath somewhat secret and respect it, so I'm only 90% sure that the beans won't be spilled...I've raised a flag, haven't I?

"One last question." Maple spoke up "What did you do to that knight?"
"Oh, simple, in the split second, I made him experience several forms of death and a couple of his nightmares, time is really fluid, so in a split second for us could be hours or days for him depending on his will." I shrugged "But making someone see all that is just one of my more boring ones, I can also command people to do things against their will, it got limits of course."
"It feels like you're hiding a lot more." she narrowed her eyes down
"You'll find out later, I have to keep the suspense if I don't want this whole thing to end in a couple more chapters. By the way, does the demon lord have any allergies? Or other medical conditions, maybe?"
"He's colorblind and can't see blue...and I heard he's lactose intolerant." she answered
So, if I dress in blue while carrying a while carton of milk, I can appear invisible and make the demon lord shit himself? I know that's not how color blindness works, but the idea of making the demon lord shit himself is really funny. So just work with me here.
"Well enjoy the rest of you time-"
"Wait, how can I get in contact again?"
"Just a prayer is fine, I'll know it's you." she replied "But I'll only come if it's dire."
"So I can mix in flirts in my prayers."
"I'd rather you not, but I can see that you won't heed my word, so try to at least keep it to a minimum if you can." she pleaded before disappearing and a cold breeze emitted from her spot.
"AHHHhhh!" Ruka screamed as she got up in cold sweats
"Yo grandma, those were just your nightmares from the time you were enlisted in the war, it's been centuries since then."
"What?!" she exclaimed
"It's a joke cuz you're old."
"Oh...alright...wait no!" she then held her head "This is your fault! Why did you tell my sister that you were cheating on her with me?!"
3rd Person POV
Rylee is about to go wake Perseus and Ruka up for breakfast before she heard something really interesting.
"..."This is your fault! Why did you tell my sister that you were cheating on her with me?!" a muffled female voice shouted
Nyra saw her and was about to say something before Rylee signaled her over and made her listen in too.
"She came to that conclusion on her own, I just said she wasn't the first woman I've been with." Perseus replied in a calm manner
"He's 8!" Nyra mouthed
"Just listen, I do not want to misunderstand what I've just heard." Rylee whispered
"Are you sure that you and my sister aren't dating?! You keep saying that you're great friends and she said the opposite by threatening me with a knife to my throat. And...what is that smell of apple cinnamon?"
"Oh your other sister was here just a couple seconds ago."
"Which one?! Just how many of my family members of mine are you going for here?!" Ruka demanded
"He's cheating on her with both of her sisters...impressive." Rylee muttered under her breath
"Stop that!" Nyra hissed back "We are clearly failure as parents if he's this immoral. I thought those 2 hated each other's gut."
"Well clearly they were faking it so no one would know their secret." Rylee replied "Maybe he fell for her on first sight and she used her powers or whatever to see how handsome he looks when he grow older and are now keeping their relationship a secret till he matures, I mean if I've never met you, I would have totally asked her out too."
"You're sooo getting in trouble for that last part, what do we do now? He cheated on her! With her sister no less" Nyra replied as they backed away to the kitchen
