Chapter 70: Discrimination

Perseus POV

"As long as it's reasonable and within my knowledge, use me as you wish." Lilith replied as she then gestured her 2 guards who then pulled out their so called gifts.

Knives, enchanted jackets, high quality too, all probably around the 6 or 7 star level, but damn, it's all formal. It's cool that it probably has those magical features that stretch to your preferred size at will.

It will be useful for my upcoming fights, I do hope to have a high level mastery over my rose powers and shape them into clothes like Leilah and Ruka, they can go past their limits and have no powers leftover, but those clothes would stay on as almost permanent objects since only then would it start to tear.

But these artifacts will all be useful for me against the kraken and I'll save most of it to give back to the family of the watchers that died that day while I'll keep those that I need for now like the suits, even if I hate formal wear, it'll help me to be able to attend any parties without having to worry too.

The things that they gave me cost several million bels at the very least.

"Well it's a weird and obvious question, but...have you ever thought about peace and coexistence?"

"I'll be lying if I say I haven't, everyone wish for peace." Lilith answered "But our side needs justice to be delivered, the first hero should have let our lord end him then and there for betraying him."

"But don't y'all also want to eliminate and enslave those of the lesser race?"

"Well since it's just us here, I can tell you that only about 70% of us believe that humans are a lesser race." Lilith answered "Yes, we have just a slight advantage of physical and magical attribute and talents even if it can't compare to the people of your village, but not all of us necessarily think of you as a lesser race."

"70% percent is a lot, you know."

"It is," She nodded "Amongst the 6 generals, only 2 share that sentiment, 1 more than the other."

"Oh, and you're not one of the 2?"

"There's a reason why even our race fear an all out war, we can't win that easily even if a majority of our population wants it to end soon. We can't just kill the first hero's bloodline that is the Tartians and end it that way either, I wouldn't say it and waste your time, but there is no other offer anyone can make unless that person is the victor, the humans and demons will clash, of course your village will be spared by both sides unless you choose to join one side."

If one side choose to be merciless, they may just want to eliminate every persons of the other race too...

I'm really trying for peace, but I guess the novel can't just easily end in 20 chapters now, can't it?

Coexistence is hard, I may be exaggerating, but I am a victim of that too, after all, the powers that I was born with scared people while it enticed some. Before it was discrimination of where people came from, their cultures, their skin color...but then people like me was born.

At first, it was seen as a gift by many and an emphasis on many. People were born with more powerful and destructive powers, even though it was very few in numbers that abused it, it cause hate and discrimination to the innocents.

It started even before I was even born, and it only got worse.

Discrimination were now directed at someone else, a common enemy, they forgo discrimination between each other and did find coexistence, even if it was at the cost of someone else. But if if these things exist, most of us specials still live in relative peace and found comfort with each other...it was only until a certain project took place the the peace was taken away from a good number of us.

Sorry, my ramblings must be a bit boring to you guys, I don't need pity, I've gotten more than enough, as for hate, gotten enough of that too, at least in this life, I have certain control and power over it, I will make sure that I will live by my own rules.

"Even then, peace might come, but true peace never will." I replied "Discrimination will always choose to exist, crimes will continue to exist during the times of possible coexistence, desires, personal selfishness...nothing can be perfect, but you can tell this to the demon lord or whatever, I truly do wish to stay out of the war, and I'll try to create another option of peace."

"Wow, you're sounding more and more like a protagonist by the day." Leilah applauded

"Yeah, isn't that called wishful thinking?" Ruka added "Making very bold proclamations while having nothing to back it up does make you look like a protagonist for a good few second there."

"Very bold indeed." Lilith held her laugh

But it's strange I swear, every time she made somewhat of an eye contact with Leilah, she turn away, does she have a crush on Leilah or something? I can't tell what her change of expression was, but it seems that she's trying very hard to not look at her direction.

Like if you're gonna confess to her, go ahead, I think that it's quite amusing since she's going to be rejected. And witnessing a heartbroken demon general would also place me amongst a small list of protagonist of being able to witness it. But would that make me the guy that ntr'ed her?

"Alright, another question, does it not anger you that I helped participated in the killing of your previous lord?"

"Now you're asking the real question." she laughed this time "...Not really, the lord went down as he wanted, our people are nothing but proud. Not a lot of people can dictate how they'll die whether it's old age or going down fighting, but you're the only exception as for the others? We'll show no mercy."
