Chapter 85: Very Normal

Perseus POV

This guy is pretending to have a lax attitude, but it's easy to tell that he's actually nervous under the covers that I'm not following his flow, it seems that they plan to bring me somewhere. Even if I know that the group I'm with will guarantee my life, I don't plan to fall into a position of having slight disadvantages.

"Look, if you want, I can just get a boat and get out of your hair, or just lead me to a teleportation array since I'm clearly not wanted."

"Stop trying to abuse your authority." A voice said and when it was cleared, I saw this fat noble in formal clothing

"Ah sir Yom." Jack exclaimed

"Why are you so scared of just cooperating a bit?!" Yom continued "I guess this denial just proves your involvement if anything."

Yom, the noble that 2 of the mages that the navy investigated and didn't overlapped with ours. They're just all gathering in a spot, that makes all of this just easier since now I can kill one of the other and leave the live one for interrogation. Those that overlapped o both sides of the investigation takes priority and those that don't comes in secondary.

I planned to do all of this only after I kill that sand worm or whatever, but fate really wants my priority to change.

So one will try to be the good cop while this noble, I assume will try to antagonize me and make me the villain in people's eye, cornering me to a point where the good cop is the only one I can rely on.

"Fatso, I don't like your tone, so shut it and don't butt in." Lilith warned "My patience are running low."

"What is it with you people?" he replied and shook his head slowly in this mocking way "You and the kid over there should learn to respect people of authority."

"Look man, the only reason you even have any status is cuz of what your ancestors did and what they contributed, the only reason you retain it is by contributing the minimum amount to keep an empty title."

"Are you undermining my authority, brat?" I seriously don't like his tone

Like bro just came here and piss me off despite having no previous interaction, like be somewhat likable at least, show me your gap moe or whatever it's called, people aren't supposed to be 100% irredeemable or a waste of space like my readers.

"Jeez, you people must be uncivilized." he sighs

"My people? You referring to the people of the Paradis tree?"

"Yeah, who else am I referring to, maybe you should establish some sort of noble system and you might just learn some etiquette and become somewhat civilized."

And for some reason his head just flew off his body as blood spewed from his neck. Like it just came off, I don't know how, it's a clean cut as well. I guess karma really is a thing, by talking so much shit, the gods have decided that he's a waste of space and decide to cut his head off.

Author, dis you?

|No, it's you and Lilith, don't put the blame on me.|

"Didn't think you have the same thought in your head." Lilith commented since both our swords clashed as we went or his neck from different directions "Seems like we'll get along well."

"I thought you were an archer."

"I am but I also know to handle myself in close combat."

I then turned to the guards as Leilah created a barrier surrounding the new headless Yom in order to not let the blood splatter everywhere.

"Uh yeah, guards, you can add in the charge of um assault on a um very disabled person."

"Disabled?! You killed him!" Jack accused

"What are you talking about? He's disabled, can't you see?"

"Yeah, cuz he doesn't have a head, how is anyone abled if they can't even breathe?! You're insane!"

"I know, that's why I classify him as a very disabled person. Karma sure is strange, the head just flew cleanly off."

Well it seems that I might need to leave the southern continent for now, I didn't think any of this would happen, but I need to go to the nearest teleportation array and go back to the west for now. I'll resolve things long distance and when it's over, I'll come back and level up in the desert.

But Lilith was already ahead on that one as she pooled us up and teleported us, I forgot that in her disguise, she's a 10 star mage who has enough mana to use teleport by her lonesome and we then arrived in the first shop I opened to sell the cream at the tree of Paradis and landed in the staffroom.

"You've snuck in the staffroom?!"

"Right, I can only teleport to where I've been." she scratched her cheek "I was just testing to see if your mother lied and you were here all along."

"Perseus?" I turned to see grandma Lynda

"Oh, grandma...um, I'm home?"

*****

"Oh, you did the right thing." Mom Rylee said "'You people'? That phrase irritates me."

Of course, when we got home, I just told everyone what happened, as fellow people of the village, they see nothing wrong with it, though what fazed them was the fact that I'm friends with a demon general when Lilith introduced herself.

'How come every time you get home, you bring a woman along?! Magic has its limits!' was the reaction of mom Rylee 'Even I can't do that! Whose genes do you even possess?!'

Like hey, I'm your son, remember?

"Lilith." I whispered to her as my family talk amongst themselves about their outrage

"Yeah." she replied

"Can you check my new brother, Vince?"

"Why?"

"I'm a protagonist, strange things happen all the time, he could be a god in disguise or some reincarnation or something unbelievable, can you check, you're a goddess."

"Why don't you ask Leilah?"

"She said he's normal, but I need a second opinion to be sure, she can only check if he's a normal soul or an abnormal one like me."

She then spend the next minute or so observing him.

"Nope, completely normal for a person born in this village." she said after a while
