Chapter 86: Why Is Everyone Tearing Up?!

Perseus POV

"You're sure that he's not your father in disguise or something?"

"No, if it's him, I'll know it instantly and slap him in the face." Lilith replied

Anyway, before we get on the little brother topic, it's going to be hard now for me to travel to the southern continent since my name will definitely be recorded and since the main kingdoms of all continent are connected in a lot of ways, even going into the territories under Zoris' jurisdiction will be quite difficult.

We would need Edward's and Reiner's help to check things behind the scenes since this case would probably restrict anyone outside of those with high status to even glance at. So I'm gonna be staying at this tree for now, being forced by my grandparents to teach some people on how to utilize the village dance and incorporate it with fighting and all that stuff.

I want to go to that desert, they got a lot of stuff that I need to fight there and many cases that I can solve to expand my skills other than just fighting, some rare herbs to pick up as well, but for now, I'll just...

"Go on, don't be nervous." Grandpa Wager beckoned Vince "You 2 are brothers now."

My grandparents seem to enjoy coming over a lot to accompany my parents while I'm away to help out every once in a while, and even more so when they heard that they're getting a new grandson.

I then took out the cookies I bought from Yena island from my storage spell and handed it to him, food don't expire or age in the spell, so it's in almost perfect condition and would taste the same.

He took it and ate it cautiously.

"Why are you sitting still and not talking? Say something." Mom Nyra said

"Mom, I'm sure none of you noticed it throughout the years, but I'm secretly...very socially awkward!"

I know right, it must be shocking to you guys as well since we share that common trait, it's been hard keeping this deep secret by myself, I'm glad to be able to let it out.

"I know, you fathead, now talk or I'll make you. You're not home often, so make good use of your time." Mom Nyra then ruffled my hair

My parents have been quite mean to me lately, what did I do to deserve such insults.

"Big bro...I heard that you're strong." Vince spoke up after a while as my family discussed my group's time at Yena island and what we saw there while Lilith listened in.

"I wouldn't say I am considering the amount of much stronger people in the world."

"Can you bring mama and papa back?"

Damn, why are you asking me such a question, I am not emotionally equipped or qualified to be able to deal with such a situation. Grandpa Wager, help me here, I'm a 15 year old.

Oi old man, I saw you turned your head away, I'll kill you, you're the fucking therapist!

'Try, I'll jump in later.' he mouthed once he turned back

Damn it, how do I say things that won't hurt a 5 year old's heart?

"Vince, I'm sorry, but they're gone and death is the only law in this world that no one can break."

"You explore the world, right? There are stories of people achieving immortality and exchanging it to revive a relative, can't you do the same?" he has this look on his face "It's not like I hate you guys, but I miss...my mama and my papa..."

I get the feeling man, but unlike this kid, I can't even remember my previous parents, they didn't abandon or sold me like what Lucifer's parents did, but they were simply killed and had all their records erased.

I have no way of reconnecting with anyone and only rely on myself, and the situation is a bit different for me to know how Vince truly feel inside. Maybe a protagonist mindset will have me know some emotional lines that 'll hit home.

"Vince, I know you miss your family, frankly we all do, but we can't hold onto the past. You feel helpless, don't you?"

"Yes." he nodded "I wish I was stronger and protect my mother, I could have prevented...her passing, despite everyone helping, she overworked herself just so I can have a good future, if only I was more reliable..."

"Stop focusing on the past and start focusing on now. We may not be able to provide you with everything you've missed, but we'll try our best. It's not good to hold onto the thoughts of what could have been. You should change it to what I can do now."

"What future will I even have? I'm not as strong or as smart as you-ow" he then hold his forehead after I flicked it.

I just flicked him on the forehead, it's what my therapist did whenever I go on a rant and didn't stop. It was to stop me and let me focus on her words.

"You're a bit young to be concerned with these things, throw away the thoughts of what could have been and what will never happen. Ingrain what I say in your head. Yesterday is history and tomorrow's a mystery, but today and where we are now is a gift, that's why we call it the present.

"I'm not telling you to forget the past, but to embrace it. And you can't just be pessimistic about a future that may never happen, so if you need help, I'm here for you, I'm after all, your older brother."

I then turned to everyone who seems to either be somewhat emotional or completely shocked at what I just said. Hey, you told me to try and I did, come on now, stupid grandfather.

Oi Lilith, you're supposed to be a cold hearted general, don't also tear up.

Why is it shocking that I'm somewhat a decent person at heart?! I have wholesome moments too! I'm only a beach episode away from being a true protagonist!

"I knew he had it in him..." Grandma Lynda cried and wiped her tears with a handkerchief
