Chapter 108: Inside The Temple

Perseus POV

"Are you sure?" Ruka asked

"You're supposed to make me look cool here."

"We'll be charged for murder and well, going against royal orders are basically gonna give us capital punishment again." she pointed out "It took so long for it to be removed."

"The rights of this temple don't belong to them, it was given to Zoris, and even then, the rights to the treasure inside is for the public, not the heroes or any high authority."

After all, the western continent are responsible for raising and helping the first 2 heroes end the war between the 2 races then, so even if one became the first demon lord later, Zoris should own the rights to this and it was written that the treasure was basically up for grabs, they even have some of their agents nearby to join in to try and grab the treasure first if it was opened.

"Half the rights belonged to them." the mage in front of me corrected "This was built on our land, our territory. And so public or not, we, who have authority, can determine who to NOT let in, besides, even if your companion is strong, as long as you are captive, they are in danger too."

I then sunk in the shadows to escape any possible attacks as I can see on the outside that thorny vines quickly wrapped around him and the surrounding guards, no matter how many force they have, as of now, they can't beat the 2 rose guardians, definitely not Leilah who isn't known as the last rose for nothing.

Without a way for anyone to make a proper move, the 9 star mage was stabbed with a sharp spike formed from the shadows through the head making sure that he'll die instantly and not giving any chance of healing himself, a bit anti climatic, but I guess that's what happens if Leilah go all out.

I got back out and we just walked right into the temple which we also opened using an easy anti climatic way since the problem was easier to open than I thought, just hard to obtain since not everyone is expected to have a heroes' blood if they haven't been summoned or a god's blood when only a special amount of people like those atop the chain of each religion or a hero if they're lucky.

I exist when the heroes are here so if I was born any later or earlier, I wouldn't be able to solve this.

If this pyramid temple is like the actual pyramid, it shouldn't have any traps, but what the hell do I know? I exist in a fictional world anyway. Besides, as rare as a 9 star mage is, he was a bit too cocky in the fact that he has supporting casts and would win in an out brawl, just because the roses aren't invincible, it doesn't mean they are going to be easy.

Like what is it with isekai and arrogant opponents, you already have one vain protagonist who sometimes make emotional statements and get stronger with the power of their bond aka friendship, familyhood or whatever to defeat any obstacle in their way, we don't need any more useless careless people.

He was too confident in the fact that we don't want any more record after our previous one was just erased, he was right, Ruka hesitated and Leilah did the job.

"If y'all wanna arrest me, get a proper warrant with proper people backed up with actual evidence." I shouted out

When we head in the temple, sure enough it was awesome, there were all sort of mechanisms and writings visible through the see-through wall of the hallways as the pyramid itself was some sort of machine.

We arrived at this large cubic room with several glass cases of treasure with this hole that has a ladder that leads somewhere deep down below, it's only big enough to fit about 2 people side by side.

There was also a writing above the hole.

'These treasure of mineth shalt holp thee in thy journey to the greatest treasure'

"These treasure of mine shall help you in your journey to the greatest treasure." Leilah translated

The glass cases displayed swords and other cool looking weapons, but I'm not gonna get any of that, why would the first demon lord give away all that? Maybe it's trapped, if something seems too good to be true, it always is.

So as people are figuring out on how to access it, we traveled down, it was super far down, there was no air to breathe and I had to crate a thin layer of air around myself to breathe.

When we got down there, there were no longer see through walls, we see tunnels and heard someone shouted 'it's a maze', and it was confirmed by the others, but Ruka pinched me and pointed to my belt, and the vial of Maple's blood were glowing.

I then got the spare blood of the same one I emptied by throwing at both the entrance, and sure enough, this one too.

I enchant the vials with ice magic to sustain them when they're out of my storage spell if you're wondering. But I had them out just in case and I sort of move them around and let the blood guide me like a torch as it glows dimmer if I head the wrong way and light back up if I'm on the assumed right path.

We had someone's pet fox come along with us too, it was a small white arctic fox that someone probably sent to follow us, but the fox almost died due to a lack of air barrier casted on him and was panting in an exhausted manner, so I picked him up and had Leilah erased any possible magic on the fox.

I don't know who's idea it was to bring an artic fox to a desert, but I'll give them a beating when I come back and release this fox to the wild in the north or something, foxes aren't meant to be pets after all.

I had Leilah blocked several of the tunnel with thick layers of thorny vines to confuse the people who will try to follow us, slow the ones who pick the right path while dividing them since they'll have to separate amongst the several blocked path in hopes of one leading to ours.
