Chapter 109: The 11th Star

Perseus POV

We got through the maze somewhat, there were several stereotypical traps and what not, but nothing too dangerous, we're proceeding a bit too smoothly for this and I don't like it one bit. Didn't know why any sane person would send a fox after us, at best, this fox would have died and they'll have to follow its trail to the dead corpse as a marker that they're on the right spot.

Humanity truly was a mistake. I am one of them and you who are reading this are also one of them, well unless you don't identify as human, which I can understand why since we suck.

After the maze, we see some of these metal cyclops golem things, which I then had to fight, I put down the fox and charge in, I didn't want Leilah and Ruka to help on this one.

There were 9 of them, just enough for me to train. I slid between one's legs as the other cyclops shot a light beam out of its eye and homed in on me and almost cut its ally in half before it stopped itself.

I wrapped my fist with strong lightning magic and punch one through the head, despite that, it's still walking, so I overload it by injecting a lot of mana into my electrical fist and fried it inside out. I then jumped around to avoid all the attacks each of them are shooting at me.

While I was doing that, I was setting up the wires made from the 4 star thread, the walked on one and tripped down, I then punch through its back and overload it with mana from the inside till it self destruct.

I then manipulate the wires to wrap around the necks of the rest of the metal golems and squeezed them till their heads came off, they are still work, so I just punch through their bodies and overload them from the inside till they all fall, I probably should have reserved my mana a bit by fighting regularly instead of just overloading them, but wasting my mana is better for my magic training.

We then head further inside and it seemed to lead us lower and lower where one part of the wall seem to have this slightly different color, I tried to move forward and shine the blood vials against the wall, but it remained at the same brightness.

I then splashed a slight amount of both the blood on the door and this one rumbled opened immediately with no writings on top, inside it is this book laying on this stone altar.

'The secret to the 11th star.'

On the back of it, it has the number 1.

*****

After we got that book, I remembered that there's 2 entrance, so there should be a meeting point or a joint portion of the temple where we'll meet the other side with one other part of the book.

So we rushed down, no longer walking down cautiously, sure enough, we slid down this super steep slope and reach this gallery of weapons again, but we can see this slope on the other side that goes upwards, where I then rushed up there and ran quickly till I see a slightly different colored wall that isn't opened yet.

I did the same and sure enough, the same book with a number 2 on the back, i got back to the gallery and blocked both the slope down with the wires so that when they slide down at fast speed, they'll slice themselves up.

I then have Ruka and Leilah read both the books to confirm if it's not some mumbo jumbo.

"I'm flipping through them, they're mostly theories, but all of it make sense." Ruka commented "I wouldn't guarantee that it works, but from my understanding...it's not entirely wrong."

"A super low percent chance of succeeding if anything. Less than 1%." Leilah then handed it to me "It's enchanted to last forever, but you can destroy it since it's very flammable, so be careful, this is worth more than this fraudulent showcase of fake equipments, these ones are definitely cursed, it's to test the greed of a person."

"But even if these weapons were real...the 11th star...people who reach the 10th star will only grow a tiny bit stronger before reaching their limit...but this...is worthless, we can just leave now and I'll be more than satisfied."

The fox we brought along barked at this vaultlike door where we then approach it and there were these small engravings of regular English...finally.

'Place your blood in one bowl and the blood of my friend in the other.'

There is these 2 altars with small metal bowls(more like cups) in front of it on the right and left.

"The blood of my fr- They're all dead, what the hell do we do?" Ruka asked "Besides, he doesn't even have any friends when he betrayed all of them."

They've betrayed him first, but of course people overlook that, just saying, I'm on his side, but I can't say that aloud.

"Well, I mean, magic is based off imaginations, right? Maybe we use this book to get to the 11th star and travel back in time an- Yeah, even a god can't do this, time is something we can't messed with."

I then look at the display, it's arranged in a symmetrical way, the whole place is symmetrical, so maybe I can move them in some sort of way that can unlock the vault like some sort of puzzle.

The fox was just pulling on my pants and tried to pull me to the door.

"I get it little buddy, treasure on the other side, but your owner would have to wait. Here's some more turkey bacon. You can stop now cuz you're seriously super fluffy and cute, I will think of an excuse to adopt you later."

The fox then roll its eyes and jumped up to one of the bowl and gnaw on one of its arm till it bleed.

"I get it, you're suicidal and frustrated at life, and I can relate, but self harm is not the way, you're too cute and fluffy to die."

It just kept gnawing on it and bled out, when we tried to heal it, I then realized that the bowl switched to a red color the moment a few drops of blood hitting the bowl.
