Chapter 134: Golden Sand (6)

|Author's note: I might post 1 chapter a day for the next couple days because my prof for my Japanese course decided that it'll be fun to give everyone a 40 page exercise on the 2nd day. Yes, I'm studying Japanese, it's hell. Do not take it if you value your sanity, fun, but kinda make you want to give up due to the number of characters, plus all the other things I got going on, it might take a whole week for this 1 chapter a day thing.|

Perseus POV

Once I left the place and made sure no one was following, I set Buddy down and told him to do a task for me. He's apparently good at doing scouting jobs as long as you give him treats when he returns. He can go on for days till he complete his job.

"When we were there, you saw the map I pointed to, right?"

He nodded, the guide who was in charge of me was a pretty high ranking priest, he brought me to his office and I saw this map that contain the location of their headquarters which he forgot to put away, laid across his desk. I had Buddy memorized it as I distract the guy by asking about the artifacts in his room.

"Do you remember the directions? Good, alright, so do you need some prepacked food?"

He just shook his head, well he's a scavenger, so he should be able to handle himself, Trevor did say that Buddy is special that he can eat things a regular fox can't, he'll be able to even eat poisonous food, which the trait has saved the 2 heroes a lot of times by secretly letting him test it to detect presence of poison.

One terrible thing is that his storage spell is incredibly tiny for a 10 star caliber fighter, it's about the size of a backpack which he use to store water and some cooked meats, it's always good to be prepared for any occasion.

"I want you to go and see if you can find a map for the village with the golden sand in their headquarters, they'll have it written down, and once you done that, rush back after you store it in your storage spell because you're going to empty it a bit by the time you get there. Oh, if you can destroy some things and not have it traced to us on your way out, that'll be great."

I just handed him a small treat which he accepted and rush off. I then am reminded of my conversation with Zach after he told me a few things about the eastern church, he's withholding most of the things he knows until I send the full payment through his channels which will give him more resources to get everything he can.

'...Alright, I'll send the half of the payments later, anyway, do you know anything about a village located in a part of a desert with golden sand?'

'How'd you learn about that?'

'Oh, you know something?"

'That's where my master is from.'

'I don't know if it's a lie or not, I just need to go there to get access to the location of the fallen star since my previous source got angered.'

'Well it just so happens that he seems to want to meet you too, your luck is impeccable.'

'Well for the gifts, I need some expensive blessed artifact of the sun goddess which are harder to find since we can no longer get new ones, know where to find it cheap?'

'Well that's only for strangers, if you had earn their trust in some way, you'll only need small gifts like scarves or fruits, go on behalf of my name, but bring more than just fruits, some weaponry and equipments along with that should suffice. They should bring my master out to greet you if he's there.'

'Ah, no wonder the chief said to bring little things, he had a personal connection with someone there. So, location?'

'I only meet him through appointed times at nearby towns, so good luck, I can only help you with the gift situation, try not to anger him and you should be fine.'

The person the chief knew apparently already passed away, so I definitely can't use my connection with the chief unless the guy is here himself, but Zach's name should suffice since his master wants to meet me and I have a connection to someone who knows him.

But still, I can't tell if he's lying, this is too convenient even for me, like woah, plot just throw this guy who just solve half of my problems, no expensive gifts needed as long as you bring up a name of a guy in his adult years who looks like he hasn't even entered puberty.

I then went around the town to shop for the equipments and some expensive fruits so I can try to get in this mysterious master's good books. Meeting an enchanter and getting a possibility to learn from them, I'm blessed, especially if he accept my offer to be my teacher and let me join the monopoly circle.

*****

After a couple of days, I can sense that Buddy is coming closer and closer to me, unlike the roses, he can't teleport to me, so he'll have to come all the way back on foot.

Their headquarters ain't as far away as I thought, well if you don't have magic, you're screwed, but they took the hiding in plain sight route and seems to have worked wonders, I already memorized its location, but I don't need to go and attack them for now, this fallen star by the sun goddess needs immediate attention.

The temple already got ransacked and so people are now going after the next legend, the fallen star, could be an asteroid, Saber knows what it is and just by refusing to give me an answer means that it exist.

Please let it be a piece of super rare material, my dream is to craft an armor with the name of 'plot armor.', it'll be cool to wear a literal plot armor.
