Chapter 281: Isfrid, Bob, John? (2)

Perseus POV

"Let's stop with the catching up, let's get to why he's a psycho." Lilith interrupted Leilah's and whatever he's called.

"You really never change." the winter god snorted, "Even with a separate table and me ignoring you, you still choose to meddle in a nice civil conversation."

We got a separate table that was brought over by a servant of his, who was a humanoid cloud being of sorts, kinda weird, cuz it reminded me of this Greek myth where a guy had a child with a literal cloud, and no, I am not down bad for this cloud, I said humanoid for a reason, cuz it's a literal human-shaped cloud.

I finally managed to sit on my own though, which was nice.

"Oh give me a break, boohoo, your lover died, you got plenty afterward, grief for them too, you dumb idiot." Lilith continued.

His eyes then started to light up, which isn't a good sign considering that we were literally in his house, and it got worse since the clouds that formed this palace started to turn grey and release cold winds.

"Uh, you sure that this is a great idea?" I whispered.

"Oh please, I've had lovers too, they died, sure, I wasn't emotionally attached to a few of them, but even then-" Lilith then stopped her sentence as Isfrid shot a blast of magic my way.

Lilith quickly canceled the spell midair and it faded away after a few seconds.

"Brother, let's try not to kill my boyfriend now, I may not win against you, but I do have enough knowledge to hurt you." Leilah warned.

"Sorry," he apologized while gritting his teeth, "I just wanted that animal to experience what I felt to have the one you cherished suddenly ripped away from you."

"Blame yourself for that." Lilith retorted, "You're a god, and you can't protect your own lover?"

"Didn't one of your previous lovers die at the hands of one of my previous saints?"

"He's a warrior, I warned him, and he died due to his own weakness and lack of preparation. As for you, she wasn't a fighter, and it was your job to protect her, you knew that the guy was unstable, and yet you chose to do nothing, you were what? Helping your followers build a temple in your honor?

"You had so much time to save them, at least to save your children, but, look at what happened, instead of blaming your own incompetence, you chose to blame me, you're an idiot, why did you mark only your children? Why can't you do the girl too?"

"It was a ritual for her to become my eternal wife." he yelled and got up with this super cool ice spear in his hand, "I had to remove the mark, I tried to make her a goddess, and-"

"And with her powerless, you as a god can't just ask one of your followers to guard her or something?"

"Alright, you 2, calm down." Leilah stepped in and push Isfrid down and forcefully made him sit on the chair.

Her strength seemed to have surprised him a bit, bad time to bring it up, but yeah...her physical strength is something, if she has the intention of harm, she can break a person's bone within a second. I've experienced it many times.

"Lilith, you know of the ritual, our mother taught us that." Leilah said, "And you know that the girl at the time wanted her privacy with her own children and was insistent on not having any guards."

"But-"

"Perseus, have her on your lap again before a fight occurs."

"Alright," I then got up and pulled Lilith onto my lap and tried my best to calm her down, "My life is in danger here cuz I ain't immortal like the rest of y'all."

"Ain't? Y'all? Use proper English." Isfrid said, "The language originated from your world, you mongrel."

"Oh, you're making fun of my accent now. I can't wait till you hear every other accent from my world, cuz they make less sense than mine, one of the current heroes got an Australian accent, go talk to him, you're gonna be a rude awakening. Besides, people in my village talk this way, kinda hard to talk like something I ain't."

"Mongrels, all of you." he rolled his eyes, "You demons are all the same, all uncivilized and dirty, what's the point in your existence if you're just going to poison the world into straying away from peace and stability?"

"And how does me being a partial demon make me any different than you? We're both arrogant dickheads."

"You filthy little-"

"You 3, stop it before I get seriously involved." Leilah said as she then released this large aura of death.

Both the gods' eyes widened in surprise and backed off, as I sat there, the tension in the air thickened, and an overwhelming sense of foreboding washed over me.

|Yo, I finally used the term foreboding, I've always wanted to use that.|

I could feel it, like an icy hand gripping my heart, the unmistakable presence of death itself. I had encountered dangerous foes before, but this was different. This was something ancient, something malevolent that transcended whatever existed in the physical world.

Leilah, the black rose, the rose of death...luckily, this wasn't directed at me, cuz I would be running in the other direction.

"Isfrid?" Leilah said as she then pulls back her power, "Can you teleport Perseus and Lilith back to the northern continent for now? With Lilith with him, I can stay far away from Perseus, and we can have our conversation in private."

Within the blink of an eye, I found myself right outside the walls of the capital of the northern continent in the middle of another snowstorm.

"Man, I wanted to strangle him right then and there." Lilith snarled and then grabbed my hand and teleported me somewhere herself.

"Wait, um, why are we in a bedr- No, this isn't a good time to do this, Leilah may have us teleported back at any moment!"

"I don't care, I'm using my 12-hour gift early." she said as she already started taking off her clothes.

"Wait, I'm not read-"
