Perseus POV
Interesting...humans have actually started to create divisions for gun-wielders, that's useful, but it's still a small unit, mainly for scouting and infiltration. Since the gods can spectate whoever and wherever they want to watch, I just used Lilith's ability to watch the war.
Though she did warn me that doing this will get Saber's attention since this is his territory, usually he won't respond or anything, but we're in his territory now, so he might come to reprimand us or something.
The anti-magic cult, their side is definitely going to lose, too less mages, and their head honcho doesn't allow Phineas to go out and fight with their army and just watched them get murdered from afar.
Hopefully, their prophecy thing can help them now, because their numbers are just that low and it's not like they got the better tech to help em win. Maybe they'll get another prophecy that can help prophesize their win or at least help them avoid complete annihilation.
"How are you tinkering with that thing and watching at the same time?" Orion asked
"If I can read subtitles at both the top and bottom of the screen at the same time while watching anime, that means I have the ability to focus on many things at once, I've mastered the art of being a shut-in, that's why I can insult my readers well, I somewhat relate to them."
"Relate to them? You mean being a socially awkward introvert can be a relatable trait?"
"Hey, I already insult them enough, you don't need to do it too."
"And are you sure you want to tinker with such a machine?"
"I'm trying, but I can't even break it even if I bash it against a god's head, so I'm just trying to learn what I can from it, but nothing is budging."
"That's a weird metaphor."
"That's cuz I meant it literally, with both Cassius and your mother."
"Did she get mad?"
"I asked beforehand, don't worry, but this thing really won't budge, so I wouldn't worry, if you wanna go home and talk with your siblings, I can teleport you back, you must be lonely here."
"Nah, I'm fine." he shook his head, "I grew up with em, I'm fine, I got a lot of years to spend with them."
"That's the kind of line that would raise a death flag, you know."
"Dad, you're weird."
"I know, but I'll mature in the future, because how else am I gonna raise you lot?... Am I gonna mature?"
"I'm not allowed to tell you of the future, your orders, from both the future and present version of you."
"I don't like your face, but if I'm still gonna still be childish, I'll just hope that I'll be at least a fun dad."
*****
As I watch the fight, the more I'm convinced of the end of the anti-magic cult, even though this started because of me, I don't plan on stopping it, I could have just asked Cassius to stop it, but I'm not gonna the anti-magic cult needs to lose, Phineas is too dangerous of a person.
Though I question why they haven't just surrendered yet, the heroes will definitely spare most of em, and might even make Phineas just work for them with some sort of promise to release him after defeating the demon lord.
But they're fighting to the end, they are clashing against the heroes' side head-on, despite knowing that they're gonna lose. They must have some trump card then, but if Phineas is not it, then who or what?
Do they plan on just summoning God into the fray and letting him eliminate the competition? Because if so, that ain't happening.
I kept tabs with Zach for the past few days and it seems that the royal castle in the capital is destroyed along with their most secretive lab there, meaning that I don't have to do anything, so I'm just waiting for the end of this war. But the cult is gonna delay it by months at this point, so I'm gonna need to hasten it.
But how do I do that? I can take a side, but that's too troublesome...I can try and find out this trump card and kidnap Phineas, but that ain't happening, too much work. And Calling Cassius to back out won't be too great a move either, the heroes have joined in, it's too late to back out now.
Should I let it play out...? I'm in an advantageous position here, but it's hard to do anything. I can stop the war by being or creating a common enemy, but I need Phineas gone...
Shit. If only I was born a genius. I don't want the war to go on too long, cuz once I'm gone, one side is gonna come to recruit my village, and the heroes can get a good number of men from my village, and I don't want that.
I'm gonna need advice from a more wise person, Dawn, but how do I contact her? ell there is one way...Leilah can technically go into a dream of a person on the other side, it's hard to find out who are her servants exactly, but there is one person who definitely can contact Dawn, though Leilah might not like it.
I went to Leilah and asked her for a favor, she was skeptical.
"I smell trouble." she said.
"How do you even smell trouble? Your nose needs to be researched because you are too special. But you're definitely not going to like it."
"Ok, I don't mind Mother, but why ask me for a favor so formally, it's weird."
"Well, since you can't really contact Dawn, I would have to rely on a mortal, and the only person I know who knows of Dawn's identity and can contact her...is Meira, my ex-girlfriend."
"Hmmm, she should be quite old by now, she's maybe in her 40s or 50s...if I scare her enough, she may die of a heart attack."
"Please don't, besides, she's married with kids, I wouldn't want that fate to fall upon her."
"Fine, but you're seriously gonna owe me a lot for this."
