Chapter 358: Split (3)

|Author's note: Yeah, y'all might find a lot of mistakes from here on out, my laptop just bluescreened several times today, I'm gonna try to get it replaced, but it may take a long while till that happens.|

Perseus POV

"Oh no..."

I woke and I was blinking against the morning light that filtered through the curtains. And then, as my groggy senses sharpened, I realized that I wasn't alone in this bed. I moved my arm around and tried to search for Buddy, but I didn't feel fur, I felt flesh...I turned and I saw blonde hair.

Panic shot through me like a lightning bolt, and I forced myself to stay perfectly still, praying that Dawn hadn't noticed I was awake. What... what is she doing here? Is this real? I must be dreaming, right? Deep breaths, calm down. She's still asleep. Maybe she's as surprised as I am. Oh, God, I hope she didn't hear me gasp just now. Keep pretending to sleep. What's the plan here, anyway? How do I handle this?

"Hey." she said while stretching and rubbing her eyes.

"Crap...uh...nothing happened, right?"

"What do you think?"

"That's why I'm asking you, I'm hoping that this is one of those cliché scenes where a protagonist wakes up to a naked girl and freaks out about it despite nothing happening the night before."

"Well, it happened." she giggled

"I sometimes hate my ability of that trickster god. Why am I detecting truths?"

"I convinced you to drink the alcohol I made, it can affect even me, you said that you'd take a sip just to entertain me, you took a shot and one thing led to another..."

Lilith POV

Ruka took the lead last night and basically told all of us what happened, we didn't beat her up or anything. Leilah seem to have already noticed as she apparently 'smell him on her lips'.

From the way she described the experience, that amount of lust being stopped by a kiss is a blessing in itself.

And since Perseus was closeby, he was definitely the only option to solve that. Leilah just pinched her as punishment, but that's about it.

We left Buddy at home to make sure nothing happens between Mom and Perseus, hopefully nothing happened.

This world gets stranger the longer I live here. People would visit what they call the Stonehenge or something, it's just rocks. That's so stupid, you could have spent money to visit the pyramids or Angkor Wat, those are structures that are worth visiting, heck, the Taj Mahal is better.

After our fun, we got home to see Perseus mapping things out on this large print and Mom was on her laptop and working with her subordinates. Our 2 guests were helping Perseus map his plan out and discussing about some unveiling.

Things seemed fine, but Leilah seemed to have sensed something, her eyes widened at Mom and Perseus...for her to be that expressive...something happened. And it involves Perseus and a female member of my family...Yeah, I think I know.

"Perseus...why do I smell my mother's scent on you?" Leilah asked

"Oh, we just slept in the same bed, that's all," he replied

It looked normal so far and it sounded normal, but...

"Hmm, that kind of scent wouldn't be as intense if you just slept in the same bed." Leilah debunked his answer, "What happened?"

"Fine." He replied, "The memories are only coming back just a while ago, but I slept with Dawn..."

"Oooh, drama." Ace chuckled, "Are there even any female family members that he hasn't laid his hands on?"

"One." Leilah replied with a shiny glint in her eyes, "Just one. It's easier to share him between family, but it still annoys me sometimes."

"It seems that all of you look pissed." Perseus commented, "Let's talk this out through civil methods."

3rd Person POV

People gathered at a conference held by H.A.P.P.Y Solutions as they were about to unveil a project unlike anything the world had seen before. The room buzzed with anticipation as reporters, investors, and curious onlookers filled every available seat.

After a speech and a member of the board of directors took the stage, the curtains slowly drew back, revealing a colossal machine, the audience gasped in awe. It was not medicine-related which was expected from a pharmaceutical giant, but rather, it was a super bright intricate battery machine.

The executive then proclaimed that this marvel of engineering was said to be a never-ending energy source, capable of powering entire cities indefinitely, and the pharmaceutical giant named it Project: Lucifer.

"We understand the controversy surrounding our past actions," the executive admitted, their words filled with a mix of remorse and determination, "But we believe that innovation has the power to redeem. With this limitless energy source, we aim to not only revolutionize the world but also make amends for our past."

In the wake of the pharmaceutical group's unexpected announcement regarding their boundless energy source, the world erupted with a variety of reactions.

Yet, skepticism was equally pronounced.

|I don't know what word to use, so I'll take suggestions.|

The company's tarnished reputation cast a long shadow over its latest endeavor, leaving people to question the motives concealed behind this newfound invention. Doubts lingered, as the world hesitated to fully embrace the promise of never-ending energy.

Skepticism ran deep and wide, fueled not only by the pharmaceutical group's dark history but also by a string of recent incidents that had shaken their facilities. These events were seen by some as acts of revenge and raised questions about the true nature of the pharmaceutical group's intentions.

As the pharmaceutical group's facilities continued to be targeted, it deepened the divide in public opinion. While some sympathized with those taking matters into their own hands, others feared that the violence would only further complicate an already complex situation.

The world watched these developments closely, unsure of how they fit into the broader narrative of the pharmaceutical group's redemption and the unveiling of the limitless energy source.

Perseus was also among those in the audience, however, his expression was a mixture of being horrified and furious.
