Chapter 376: Keith's Confinement (7)

Perseus POV

Ice walls were erected and enclosed me, the representatives, and Cain inside while separating the outside where Buddy and Ruka came down and killed everyone who attended this meeting. I walked to the table and picked up their paper to read it.

I wanted to come here alone, but the others insisted on having Ruka and Buddy come along, the rings resonance enhanced my powers, and Buddy is good at carrying my orders. his loyalty is scary sometimes since he'll do anything.

"All beings, regardless of their genetic makeup, shall be treated with fairness and respect. Discrimination against mutants in any form is strictly prohibited. This includes employment, housing, education, and access to public services."

That seems good.

"Discrimination against mutants in hiring, promotion, or workplace treatment is strictly prohibited. Employers shall provide equal opportunities and reasonable accommodations for mutants. Employment programs and incentives shall be created to encourage businesses to hire and support mutants in the workforce."

I then skimmed through some more.

"A committee shall be established to monitor and ensure compliance with this treaty's provisions. Signatory parties shall regularly report on their progress in implementing anti-discrimination measures and address any violations through a transparent and impartial process."

|I made the provisions a bit simple, I'm not that smart. I know no one who majors in law, I did take a few courses, but not enough since they were for beginners at best.|

Good thought, but... vague, considering that these people are some of the most intelligent people in the world, I wish to see it in more detail...but from the beginning, they were never serious about any of this. This was all made simple and good enough to just have me sign it and lower my guard.

I'm a bit amused. They underestimated me, just as they had from the very beginning. But there was something hidden beneath my amusement and it was my disappointment. These representatives, who had the power to reshape the world for the better...Their half-hearted attempts at reconciliation were a far cry from the justice I sought.

The representatives took out their concealed weapons and tried to shoot at me, but I summoned sharp black and blue petals to fly and intercept their bullets, some flew and killed them on the spot. I directed some of them at Cain as well, but he regenerated super quick despite the petals blowing holes through his body.

"Rose petals?" he questioned and winced while picking the petals out of his body, "Black rose...I thought that it was...did you reincarnate into the other side?"

I just keep quiet at the question, the blue rose can only be found in one place, so if he knows, he knows.

"How? Is this the power of the most powerful rose? Is Keith really still alive?" he asked

"Of course, though, right about now...Leilah and Lilith should have dropped him off in front of his more recent victims, where the hatred toward him is more intensified, he'll suffer more with them, he should live for a bit longer right as we speak."

"Are you not going to call one of your god friends to come and kill me right now?" Cain asked, "This is the best time to do it, my immortality can be canceled when god essence is used."

"Nah, this will alert your friends, and fighting all out right here is going to kill a lot of civilians, so I'll wait till there's a proper battleground."

Not only that, the gods who will come here will only stall while the rest of the teams take their chances at invading heaven, God's not going to resist, they'll get what they want. Even if Cain dies now, the past Cain can still become a god and enact their plan since this hatred and goal has been centuries in the making.

His face was stone cold, and he didn't even yield a bit as chaos erupted around us. The soldiers, no matter how well-trained they were, were no match for Buddy and Ruka. The projects, also stood no chance as they were all brought down. This guy just doesn't care, his gaze remained unwavering, devoid of any hint of compassion or regret.

I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. His lack of empathy was something.

"What would you have done if this was a serious negotiation?" Cain asked

"Equality and a couple of other things, especially healthcare. A lot of us were denied access to proper healthcare since no one wanted to touch us. There were even talks of people being harassed and sexually abused when given access to healthcare.

"Our voices were never heard, and sometimes, we are sent to you guys. Something that we'd rather die than going to accept help from you."

"What if I recruit you to my side?" Cain offered "When I become a god, I will make sure your existence remains."

"Are you kidding me?"

"I do not kid, I can use a personal bodyguard."

"No, I'm telling you now Cain, the world will mark my name down as the most terrible and horrifying monster ever  created. I will make this world suffer what I've suffered, and the only thing that can stop me is death itself, so after you come out of here as the sole survivor, make sure to tell the world that, this trickster is gonna go wild."

3rd Person POV

Right after the incident, the world was left in shock and disbelief. The news spread like wildfire, and the global community could barely grasp the situation. The venue that had hosted the peace talk was now a ruin, its towering walls reduced to rubble. And there were no survivors to tell the tale, only a haunting silence that hung over the scene.

Instead of resolution, the world had witnessed destruction on a catastrophic scale. The next day, they found Loki at the scene and broadcast it live. He then cast an illusion...the scene was the place before its downfall, the faces of the dead walked and knelt in front of him, worshipping him as if he was a god.

Among the masses, there were those who swore they saw their lost loved ones among the illusionary procession of the dead. Tearful cries and anguished pleas filled the air as people were haunted by visions of family members and friends who had perished in the chaos.

The masses of the dead then held up a sign that read 'You've all done this to me'.
