Chapter 438: Yield (2)

3rd Person POV

As the jungle around them slowly dissolved and became light particles that were blown by the cold wind, the mana inside Perseus surged to the highest level possible as his body emanated waves of crackling electrical mana, and the powers then burst into a large pillar of light that exploded.

The seasonal gods sensed it, Dawn and the rose sensed it, Perseus has reached the 10-star level, a stage that only a select few from that village can reach despite being absurdly powerful, the pinnacle of a mage, a mage so powerful that anyone who reaches that level will go down in their history as one of the strongest ever.

Perseus thought,

"Muhahaha, I'm super overpowered, I'm coming for you next Cain, this protagonist is about to take his sword and shove it up your ass." Perseus shouted, "Alright, wher-"

Perseus couldn't finish his sentence as in the very next second, I sensed a certain icy force charged at him, he intercepted the attack swiftly enough and ran away to gain some distance.

"Isfrid, you're after me too?"

"You're...too dangerous." Isfrid commented, "This kind of power level...I've only sensed it on demon lords."

"Oh? I'm as strong as a demon lord? That's kinda cool." Perseus then turned toward a certain direction, "But you're not who I'm after today."

But Perseus couldn't go to Cain, Isfrid intercepted the attack, and God and the others seized this opportunity to retreat once again. They could join in...but...why don't they just come back after the enemies killed themselves...

There's a demon goddess and the seasonal gods, they are enemies...their collaboration is temporary at best, so why can't they let the infighting commence?

But this time, instead of retreating back to their world, they let Phineas guide them, and since their forces are united, they can fight back against the heroes. Free them from their predicament...and use their full force to eliminate every one of their enemies one by one.

Saber and Cassius chased after those who retreated since...well, Cassius started the war and it was in Saber's territory. Maple used her essence to end the 2 sins caught earlier, so now...the 2 roses, Dawn and Lilith were left to deal with Isfrid.

"Isfrid, calm down." Leilah tried

"Shut up!" Isfrid shouted, "I'm sick and tired of all of you! Do you think you understand? Do you think your empty words and pitiful attempts at solace can touch the depth of my grief? You couldn't possibly comprehend the agony that gnaws at me from the inside?!

"My children, my one true love, they were torn from me by the vile hands of demons! You speak of justification? You dare question the legitimacy of my hatred for those abominations? You want me to spare this dangerous bastard?! They shattered my world, extinguished the light in my existence, and left me adrift in an endless sea of despair!

"I am a god rendered powerless by the enormity of my loss! My fury, my hatred—it's all I have left! I will hunt down those demons and make them pay for the devastation they've wrought upon me and I'm starting with him.

"If you get in my way, I'll kill all of you too!" Isfrid declared, "From this day forth, we're no longer family."

"Finally!" Lilith exclaimed, "I finally have an excuse to kill this motherfucker. Yeah, come on, let's go, I'll take you on, you sad excuse for a god."

"Then come! I'm tired of waiting, let's end our feud."

Perseus thought, "By the way, Dawn, Leilah, I know you somewhat care for this guy, but he's beyond saving, so...just leave this to me and Lilith, mainly Lilith."

"You're going to make me fight him on my own?!" Lilith exclaimed, "What kind of man are you?!"

"A rational one?"

"No, a cowardly one, at least do something while your power lasts, I'll deal the killing blow."

She's actually pissed about that? Besides, it's not like I don't plan to contribute, I just said it'll be mostly her work. And from the looks of it, Lilith will do just fine, though, killing him would mean Terrence or the pope of the north will have to replace him.

3rd Person POV

*Anti-Magic's cult base*

The remaining survivors came from the northern island and took a rest at the base, some of those who still had energy joined in the fight against the heroes, Cain was frustrated, in their attempt to kill Loki, they've only made him stronger, they need to replan and change the course of their action.

God can only unfortunately travel through worlds, and not through time or different timelines, otherwise, he would have been able to obtain an alternative time gauntlet. He was frustrated to work with the person who was supposed to kill, but he had no choice, everything lined up for him perfectly, only for it to be snatched away right before his eyes, and by some stupid...random experimental victim.

But before he could do anything, a portal of great energy opened up and lady time walked out. God looked like he recognized her and he greeted her politely while the rest watched, but she was not here for pleasantries.

"Your existence here is a nuisance." she commented and then stared at Cain, "You already got a mortal who got cursed with immortality and breaking the laws of death, and yet, you're also supporting him in his mission to destroy the fabric of space and time...

"If I were you, that Perseus fellow isn't so bad to take the gauntlet for himself." she said much to their displeasure, "And let me tell you one more thing before I go...just know...the moment the fabric gets disturbed if you win...I'll be erasing this timeline, you're all losing either way, so make your choice wisely, because I know I have."
