Chapter 518: Adult (2)

|I think for my next novel, I'll go with smaller paragraphs since people seem to like that more and it also seems that people mostly read on mobile, so my paragraphs seem lengthy.|

Ruka POV

"Hmm, you surrender quite easily, elder sister." I said in just a slightly mocking tone

"Weren't you losing to me just now?" Violet retorted, "We only surrendered cuz Lachlan already lost, it's not like we need to continue."

"Losing to US." Roxa corrected

"Hah! Losing to us? More like barely holding on!"

"Oh, spare me your arrogance, little sister. You couldn't even handle a single round against me. You and your allies can't even last a minute without throwing in the towel. Pathetic."

"Pathetic? Tsk." she then gave me the side-eye, "At least we don't rely on luck or that boyfriend of yours to get by."

"Luck?" I scoffed. "More like skill, something you clearly lack. I seduced him and he's on my side because of that."

"Why? You think I can't seduce that boyfriend of yours?"

"I can see why Lilith doesn't like you, bitch."

As the dust settled on the battlefield, a palpable sense of defeat hung heavy in the air. The combatants, weary and battered, cast wary glances at each other as any resolve or hope of winning was eliminated after seeing Perseus' attack and seeing that they were only alive because the enemy protected them.

Maple and Dawn helped protect everyone from afar when Perseus brought on that last attack, and with Lilith's immediate help, they didn't receive any injury, to know that they were only safe because of that...they knew what was going to happen if they continued.

It was clear to all who stood witness that the tide of battle had turned, that victory now belonged to Perseus and his village. His prowess in combat had proven too much for their combined forces to overcome. And as they looked upon him, they could see the undeniable truth written in his eyes: the war was over, and they had lost.

"Leaders are to come forward and lay down their weapons. Any who still draw breath are to lead their people back home and await further instructions." Laker announced

There was a collective murmur of resignation among the defeated forces as their leaders stepped forward, their faces etched with defeat. They knew that resistance was futile, that they had no choice but to submit to the god of victory's demands.

And so, under his watchful gaze, they laid down their arms and bowed their heads in surrender. The leaders among them took charge, organizing their forces and leading them away from the battlefield, back to their homes and their waiting families.

Cult members tried to resist and fight, but Goldie brought them down with literal fire, God commanded them to stop, but the cult resisted, they were screaming as they fell. They were screaming about how magic is a corrupting force, a tool of darkness that threatened to disrupt the natural order of the world.

No matter how many fell, whether they died or not, it kept coming, magic was heresy, a dangerous temptation that led individuals down a path of moral decay and spiritual damnation. Even the demons were somewhat disgusted to think that they were allies just a few moment ago.

As the defeated made their way back to their respective homes, a sense of unease hung heavy in the air. They walked in silence, their minds swirling with thoughts of the battles they had fought, the comrades they had lost, and the uncertain future that lay ahead.

For many, the wounds of war ran deep, both physical and emotional. They had seen friends and loved ones fall in battle, their lives cut short by the brutal conflict that had consumed their world.

And now, they were being asked to set aside their grievances, to coexist with the very enemy who had caused them so much pain and suffering.

It was a bitter pill to swallow, this idea of reconciliation with those they had once considered their sworn enemies. Humans and demons had long been at odds with each other, their mutual distrust and animosity ingrained in the fabric of their society.

Tolerating each other was one thing, but truly accepting one another seemed like an impossible feat.

Perseus then made his way back to the site where the old tree had once stood. The crater left behind by the tree's uprooting was massive, stretching outwards as far as the eye could see. It was a gaping wound in the earth.

He felt a bit sad looking at it as his home was here, he found Rosa at this same tree and mostly, it was where he experienced everything.

He then crouched down and touched the earth, with all his mana, he repaired the scene. Slowly but surely, the earth began to stir beneath his touch, the soil shifting and resettling as a new tree began to take shape.

A sapling then emerged from the ground. The sapling grew and a new tree began to take shape, its branches stretching outwards towards the sky. But this was no ordinary tree. Its top was a striking shade of blue. To Dawn, the tree was also reminiscent of the sakura blossoms.

The tree had grown to an incredible height, its trunk thick and sturdy, its branches stretching outwards like the arms of a giant. Its branches spread outwards in all directions, creating a vast network of greenery (Bluery isn't a word apparently) that seemed to stretch on for miles.

And its blossoms were a sight to behold. A vibrant shade of blue, shimmering like precious gemstones. It was a sight unlike anything the villagers had ever seen, a giant sakura tree with blue blossoms as far as the eye could see. And as they gathered around to marvel at its beauty, they couldn't help but feel a sense of awe and wonder.

"I'll go get the others in the bunker." Laker said before patting Perseus on the shoulder, "Good job kid."

"Yeah." Perseuschuckled as he breathed a sigh of relief, "C'mon, let's rebuild our new home."
