Chapter 523: Fate

Perseus POV

I don't know how it happened, but I woke up to Goldie and Vince sleeping on my leg and Buddy sleeping on top of Rosa to my right. I just remembered working very hard for the past 2 weeks and helping the girls who turned mortals to get used to their new bodies, despite them still being more powerful than every 10-star mage out there.

Dawn then told me to visit this 'Naomi' person, aka Lady Time, so I went, and I was immediately almost tackled by this woman. Luckily my light speed helped me step out of the way.

"So mean." the woman puffed and pouted

I sensed something wrong because all of that power of...lady time or whatever she was came from this very same woman.

"You're Naomi?!"

"Yeah, and I am your descendant." she introduced herself after getting up and brushing herself off, "Nice to meet you grandpa, I'm Naomi Silver."

"Get me a chair and some fruit wine, I need to listen to the full story first, is Persia here? I need someone to relate to."

"Nope, I'm not her descendant, so I only called you."

"Alright, can you-"

"Don't worry, I already had them prepared."

*****

"Yeah, just call me Grandpa, I rather not know how far too close down the line you are, I really don't want to know."

So, a descendant of mine became some sort of divine existence, huh...is this some infinite loop or something? Will Naomi be born and succeed this Naomi? Too complicated to think about.

The fate of Perseus Silvers, huh...just what's going on with my existence? My life seems to be done at this point, the next point of my life should be raising my kids in a somewhat more peaceful world and environment.

"So far I haven't turned out to be a Perseus Silver who destroyed this world, what should I do now? What's my 'fate'?"

"I don't know." she shrugged, "The fates of all Perseus Silvers are very strange, it's a path that you carve out for yourself through your choices and actions. You still haven't reached your maximum potential, you're nowhere close to your prime, you can do anything you want."

She then told me how across the multiverse, there exist countless iterations of me, each facing their own trials and tribulations, their destinies intertwined as being Perseus Silvers.

Some of these alternate versions of myself may find themselves forced to confront other Perseus Silvers who seek to invade and conquer other worlds like the other Perseus we know, though he can technically retire anytime he wants since like my world, he accomplished his end goal as the protagonist, so both of our world is safe.

but even with such safety, Naomi said with the power I have at my command, I am free to roam the vast expanse of the multiverse, charting new paths and embarking on thrilling journeys beyond the confines of my own reality.

The possibilities are endless, limited only by the boundless reaches of my imagination. Perhaps I'll wander through uncharted dimensions, encountering strange civilizations and uncovering mysteries. Or maybe I'll seek out other versions of myself, forging alliances and facing formidable foes together.

I could choose to retire, and enjoy the tranquility of my home and the peace that surrounded me.

"Perseus Silvers sure are strange."

"Well, it doesn't matter, because you're my favorite one." She said as she hugged my arm and took a selfie, "Right, I have to teach you how to use the gauntlet properly and master it so that we can repeat the loop."

"Yeah, that's why I'm mostly here for anyway, no offense...I don't really care about this Lady time person much and would have left much earlier if you weren't related."

"None taken." she assured, "But...hmm...you'll eventually have the power to travel around like the other Perseus after figuring out all of this."

"I can?"

"You're the protagonist, nothing's impossible."

"Ah, finally someone acknowledges me as the protagonist."

"Auntie Rosa does."

"Auntie?"

"Well, if you're grandpa, then she's auntie, no?"

"Make sense."

"By the way, isn't she like physically older than you? I get that she's somewhat mentally younger, but how will you raise her?"

"Shouldn't you already know?"

"Yeah, but I would like to hear what can happen from your mouth instead of spoiling myself."

"Well, age is merely a measure of time passed, not necessarily an indicator of wisdom or capability. While she may be physically older, her mental age presents a unique set of challenges and opportunities for growth.

"My approach to raising her would be rooted in understanding her individual needs, I don't know what it is, but I'll work toward the solution with her, I got amazing women around me to help do that.

"Ultimately, the goal is to help her develop into a confident, compassionate individual who contributes positively to the world around her. And while the journey may have its challenges, I'm committed to walking alongside her every step of the way. Whether she sees me as a father, a friend, or even a brother, it wouldn't stop me from being her family."

"What an absolute nerd." a voice said coming out of Naomi's phone

"Ruka?"

"Hah, Rosa's here too, her face is so red." Ruka spoke on the phone

"Damn it, you snitched on me."

"I did it for grandma's head pats." Naomi replied proudly

"I don't raise any descendants of mine to be that cheap."

"Well, you didn't."

"I'd teach them to."

"And you failed, because I sold your sentimental moment for headpats from all of your wives, with the exception of Lilith. She didn't let me call her Grandma, and yes, I talked to them and revealed everything just a while back, and yes, you're the last one."

"I'm hurt."

"You want head pats?"

"No."

"When did you get so sentimental?" Ruka asked in a teasing tone

"You're so going to get it when I get back."

"You can try."

"I'll so am going to start with you first."

"I'll look forward to it."

"Is this some innuendos that I shouldn't be listening to?" Naomi asked

"No...unless Ruka does so, but at least I'm not implying anything."

"Can I visit you guys sometimes?"

"I don't really mind, but won't it affect the timeline or whatever?"

"It will, but don't worry, I was chosen for this job because I'm good at it."
