Chapter 522: Mortal

Perseus POV

"What do you wanna ask, Lloyd?"

"Unlike the heroes and Phineas there...what do you want me to do?" Lloyd asked, "I betrayed the village who was adopted into Tartia as royalty, even though I'm not holding any proper official positions among royalty like Uncle Edward, I'm more of a noble than anything. Sure, I got some respect for the representative thing a while back..."

"Look...the chief asked me to spare you as he died."

"Why...?"

"I don't know." I just shook my head, "But I'll do my best to honor his wishes, maybe he wants you to do what you believe is right. Not as a noble or royalty of Tartia, nor as a half-demon from our village, but as Lloyd, the person you are beneath all the titles and expectations."

"And what's that? What does it mean for me?"

"You may have betrayed our village in the past, but that doesn't define who you are now. You have the opportunity to make amends, to choose a different path, one that aligns with your own values and convictions. you're not a really bad guy, I saw that when I talked to you as Persia."

"And what if I don't know what that path is?"

"I mean that it's your job to help bridge the divide between our village of halflings and the demon community," I explained, "It's about helping both sides acknowledge the existence of our village halflings, and eventually, working towards mutual recognition and acceptance between humans and demons."

"But how do you expect me to do that?"

"I don't know, this is how you make amends, to do the job that I'm supposed to do for me and give me all the credits, cuz we both know that my name will be etched as the guy who started all this, sure my legacy is controversial...but I achieved something nonetheless."

"That doesn't answer me, you selfish conceited bastard."

"Like I said, it's your job. Maybe you can demonstrate that despite our differences, we can still find common ground and work towards a shared goal or something? You have the unique opportunity to serve as a bridge between our two worlds since you're after all living in the middle."

"Fine." he sighs

"By the way, if you want, there is an alternate world where Persia exists as a person, I've met her...if you want, I can give you a phone to contact her, she has a harem of men and I can get you an opportunity of a date between you and her."

"Shut up." he said with a slightly flustered face, "I'll just make whatever amends I can and retire alone, I don't need any more complications in my life."

"So you're going to become the god of Summer?" I asked as I talked with Trevor

"Yeah, Sarah always preferred the eastern continent anyway, so working my way and learning to take this mantle should be good." he shrugged

"Unlike the others, I trust that you can have all of us get along easily."

"Yeah, but I'm just a guy who fights good, I don't know anything about diplomatic talks or anything else and I have to study under a guy who's all talk, and not the good diplomatic type stuff, just useless ones."

"Well, succeed him then, I'll look forward to working with you from now on." I replied and shook his hand

"Are you not going to say anything to me?" Sarah asked out of nowhere

"Nah, you don't really like me and it's not like you don't know your job...so I'll guess indifference will treat us both well."

"Screw you, Silver...but you won and spared my life, so thanks for that."

"You're welcome, now I gotta go back home and start the ritual to turn those women mortal while the opportunity is still ripe."

I then turned to thank Bora, and he asked for my phone for a favor, which he used to configure and text the other Perseus in some very beautiful words before disappearing entirely.

The other Perseus appeared in front of me within the next 10 seconds and wanted to confirm if those words were from me or Bora, I snitched Bora out and the other Perseus disappeared.

Since Leilah and Lilith plan on becoming mortal anyway, and since the ritual is painful, it might affect the baby inside, so while my mothers are -pause- carrying my children as surrogates, we might as well do it now.

Dawn plans on just having her power create a goddess on its own and is choosing no successor and just letting the universe create one while becoming a mortal at the same time as her daughters.

Maple plans on staying a goddess until Mark decides that he's ready, Ruka plans to become mortal a bit later after she finishes preparing the village properly.

We're doing the ritual in my heaven's gate where I now turned these private spatial dimensions into a more acceptable environment. Luckily I don't have to do this for Sarah and Trevor as Jerah will help them out with that.

I watched as Dawn drew 3 circles on the ground and there was a sense of gravity in the air, as if the very atmosphere held its breath in anticipation of what was to come.

As Dawn completed the intricate pattern, she, Leilah, and Lilith stepped into the circle and a sudden bolt of lightning struck, illuminating the space in a blinding flash. I shielded my eyes, momentarily blinded by the intense light.

When I regained my vision, I saw the 3 convulsing in agony, her form wracked with pain as her divine powers were stripped away. It was a harrowing sight, watching her undergo such a profound transformation, their once radiant aura dimming with each passing moment.'

Bridget stepped onto Lilith's circle and had the goddess' powers transferred to her and the 4 convulsed there in pain. Drake and Tanner were watching over them with me, but they were mostly focused on Bridget.

Drake plans on detaching himself from Bridget soon, but Tanner plans on living as Bridget's guardian and husband till her retirement. let's hope Roxa can become a somewhat successful demon lord, at least do well till she finds a proper successor.

The process was super hard to watch, and it's worse that we can't interfere with it, but after 2 hours or so, they became mortal and Bridget became the demon goddess.

"I barely feel any different." Leilah said as I helped her up

"I can't believe that I became mortal twice." Lilith complained as she helped Dawn up

"I feel so weak." Dawn commented

"Welcome to our world." I replied
