Epilogue: Coddle

Perseus POV

I'm currently bedridden for having a slight fever and all-out having no energy. Ruka promised me that she wouldn't bring anyone else to it, but oh no, it was me against 5 energetic women, and this happened the next day.

"Dominating you for once in a while is fun." Maple commented

"Daddy!" a girl's voice shouted as I turned my head to see the 3-year-old Ivy.

"Don't coddle her."

"I don't coddle her."

Currently, in my room are only Buddy, Maple, and Ivy, who are refusing to leave. I know that I'm probably not that infectious, but still...it's probably because I do coddle my children too much, it doesn't help that they're all so clingy.

Buddy was just helping me cool down and Maple was staying here so that I won't be lonely. Ivy was just lonely, even though she gets along well with her siblings and they occasionally come in to pull her away.

"Your dad needs rest." Maple said

"Yeah, but Daddy promised to play with me today." Ivy countered, "But since he's sick, I'm here to take care of him."

"Ivy, sweetheart, you're such a caring daughter," I said, reaching out to gently ruffle her hair, "But Mommy's right. I do need some rest today."

Ivy's expression softened, her determination momentarily giving way to concern as she glanced at me.

"Okay, Daddy," she relented, her small hand reaching out to grasp mine, "But can we play together later, when you're feeling better?"

"Of course, whatever you want."

As Ivy obediently left the room, Maple turned back to me, and without a word, she climbed onto the bed beside me, curling up against my side.

"You just want me all to yourself, don't you?" I teased her

Maple's cheeks flushed slightly, but she didn't protest. Instead, she nestled closer, resting her head on my chest as if to reassure herself of my presence.

"Maybe." she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper.

"Like mother, like daughter."

"Shut up."
