Who Is The Benefactor?

Thea was confused. She still did not have much knowledge when it came to the spells. After what that warlock had done, she was feeling better so she read a few spells and practiced them for her favor.

"That is not a forbidden magic but a basic magic to protect things from damage, you fool." she argued back but it only horrified them further.

"That is against the laws of nature, and anything that is against the laws of nature is a forbidden spell. Now surrender yourself and we will think of a lighter punishment. Your death would be made easier." he offered when her eyes narrowed.

Why does it matter as long as she was killed and wasn't magic in itself was against the laws of nature. She found those men absurd and shook her head.

She was ready to fight with all of them even if she had to take out her dagger and slit all of them.

She was an assassin and close combat was her specialty. Without hesitating for a second, she took out the dagger and took her stance when the man gritted their teeth and attacked her at once.

But before they could touch her, she felt herself flying in the air and swaying away from them.

Everyone saw how the demon flew in the air and gasped.

"Did she have an affinity for the wind?" asked a knight as they whispered spells to control the air around her but shockingly it did not work when they were ranked four air warlocks.

"It did not look like she was using wind." they exclaimed as their every action was futile.

Others frowned and used other spells to stop her but nothing worked. The young demon must be too strong for no spell to work on them.

Her presence created havoc in the whole plaza and everyone was soon talking about her.

"Save us from the demon! She is very strong." Many young and weak maidens with only one rank started making noise when chaos started.

In the eyes of everyone, Thea flew away but she knew the truth, she had not learnt any flying magic so far. She was only dipping hands in magic, she thought she would need to not strain this young body.

Someone was holding her. She could feel the grip of someone around her waist and then him walking leisurely in the air as if it was a path paved for him and was covered with soft velvet clothes.

She could feel his breath on her neck as if he was hugging her softly in his arms and enjoying their intimate time. If it would have been any other time, she would have already sliced his neck even when she was not able to see it by her experience but he had saved her.

Once they were far enough and she could not see the mad crowd anymore, she started to struggle in the arms of the invisible man.

"Let me go now! They were left behind and I did not need your help anymore." she announced when she heard the sligh chuckle but still the person paused respecting her wishes.

She stood firmly on her feet on the ground and then forwarded her hands, "thank you for your help.'' She wanted to shake hands but nothing happened when she realized this land did not know about shaking hands but they bowed their heads to show gratitude and respect.

"Aah.. I mean I am grateful to you." she whispered as she bowed but still no reply came. But she was sure that the person had not left yet. She could feel his presence.

"Who are you and why did you help me? If you will tell me your identity I will come to thank you in a better way in the future." she offered with a smile when the air around her started to move.

The person did not speak so she did not know the danger but just as she finished her words, silver light started to move in the air forming the letters.

"I am nobody. So I do not have a name. You do not need to thank me, I was not helping you. I just enjoyed the chaos."

"......." the silver words left a cold and arrogant impact on her as she stared at them for a few seconds before smiling again.

"Even then, you have helped me. So you are my friend. If you do not want to share your identity, I will not ask you again but you can come to me if you ever need any kind of help.. You have my words, I will do anything to help you." she waited for the reply while taking her brain. She was not even sure what kind of magic was that since she had not seen or heard anyone doing that.

But just as she was to leave, the air whooshed again.

"Anything?"There was a provoking hint in it when she nodded her head with confidence.

"Yes, anything that would be in my hands. I could have lost my life there. So you are my benefactor." This time, she heard the chuckle and it belonged to a man.

"Alright, then we will meet again." the words came out of thin air glowing golden this time giving her a warm and friendly ambience when she finally felt relief. She nodded her head and bid the person goodbye before running from there.

Moving around without changing clothes would be dangerous for her.

Just as she disappeared from there, the person in the mask who had been to her house a day ago came out of thin air with a smile on his face.

"You must remember your promise little girl since i need something much precious from you." with that he disappeared again when he heard the noises of men around him. Those who were following Thea to kill her reached there when he rolled his eyes and hands and the ground started to shake badly until all of them fell down into the cracks of the earth.
