His raging emotions

~Kim Family Villa~

Dressed in a floral green print dress, Kim Chae-Yeon stepped into the living room with her brown leather handbag from inside.

"Did a call come in the landline?" She asked the housekeeper following after her.

"No Ma'am."

"Why hasn't he called?" Mumbling to herself, Kim Chae-Yeon stopped in her steps and dipped her fingers into her handbag.

Taking out her phone, she immediately placed a call to someone. At the first ring, the call connected.

"Deok-Hwa you didn't call back." She said accusingly while walking over to sit on a double-sitter sofa.

"Forgive me. Ji-hun suddenly scheduled an emergency meeting which needs my presence." The aged male voice at the other end revealed.

Furrowing her brows, she quickly asked, "Why the sudden meeting, did anything happen?"

Kim Chae-Yeon wasn't usually interested in the matters that concerned the company. She knew nothing much about matters that big companies like 'Dream Axis' normally dealt with.

But hearing that an emergency meeting was to be held, she couldn't help but react strongly to it.

She was afraid that something big must have happened and couldn't help but worry.

"I have no idea what he is thinking. We will have to postpone the lunch till 2-3 hours later." Jang Deok-Hwa replied.

A short silence followed for almost a minute before Kim Chae-Yeon made her decision.

"I will come down to the company to take a look at things for myself."

Jang Deok-Hwa wanted to tell her that there was no need for her to come down to Dream Axis, but knowing that she wouldn't listen to him, he sealed his lips at the end.

Turning her gaze back to the housekeeper, she instructed in a sense of urgency. "Tell the driver we are going to the company now."

"Yes, Ma'am."

Taking her order, the housekeeper left her side.

~Dream Axis~

After the call with Kim Chae-Yeon, Jang Deok-Hwa put down his mobile phone on the desk that had the nameplate 'Vice-President Jang Deok-Hwa' on it.

Apparently, Jang Deok-Hwa is the vice president of Dream Axis, and he was very well acquainted with the Kim family.

Letting out a sigh, he turned the back of his hand to check the time on his wristwatch.

Seeing that he still had some time left before the meeting, he continued signing off the documents on his desk.

Arriving at Dream Axis, Oh Ji-Soo took the elevator and went straight to her office floor with a straight face.

But as soon as she opened the door, she saw the back of a man sitting on her desk. Instantly, her brows furrowed.

Even though she was able to see some similarities, she couldn't come to a conclusion. Also, only one person could come into her office and act that way.

"President Kim?" She called out, unsure of her guess.

Kim Ji-hun had been sitting on her chair with his back against the door, swirled the seat to face her with a small smile playing at the corner of his lips.

Skipping the formalities of how she was doing, he went straight to the point that explained the reason he had to leave his comfortable and exclusive working space to come to hers.

"How was the bidding?"

'I knew it!' Instantly, alarm bells began to ring in Oh Ji-Soo's head.

She was just returning from J Group. She had even taken a moment to conclude on how to present the scenes that transpired at the bidding site.

Was he that impatient?

Before words could form in her mouth, he continued as the smile on his face suddenly disappeared in a flash.

"Let me guess, you lost it to RX?"

The second those words made it to Oh Ji-Soo's ears, she felt her heart start to beat two paces faster than usual.

'Tu-tump tu-tump.'

It was almost about to fly out of her chest.

Feeling that heated gaze that was about to burn her whole, she continued in her steps while trying to explain things to him.

"President Kim, I can explain."

Immediately, Kim Ji-hun rose to his feet and slammed his fists on the desk in anger, but his tone was surprisingly calm.

"What reasoning could you possibly have that would calm my raging emotions when I clearly told you to come back with the deal?"

Pointing a finger at his chest, he continued without moving his gaze away from her. "Do you know how much my heart hurts?"

Staring into those fiery set of eyes, Oh Ji-Soo could tell that he was about to explode on her still, she couldn't let him off without explaining the reason she couldn't come back with the deal.

Stopping across from him with only her work desk between them, she tried to calmly talk to him without letting her nervousness show.

"President Kim, RX bid for the contract with $300M and won it at that price. Dream Axis could have made losses if we bid anything below $300M."

Using his palm to cover half of his face, he asked, "What was your starting budget for this project?"

Hearing that question, she took a deep breath before replying, "$300M."

"$300M?"

Kim Ji-hun scoffed as his hand dropped to his side. "Then why didn't you bid for that prize since Dream Axis is better than RX with all qualifications? Why did you let them snatch this golden opportunity from you?"

"President Kim, that price was only an assumption hence the reason it was not an option in the first place.

If we had gone with it, we wouldn't have been able to make a $50K profit from this project. We would have been the one at the losing end like RX now."

"What?" Kim Ji-hun failed to make sense of her speech.

Pointing his fingers at her, he questioned, "Right now, are you trying to make an excuse for your incompetence?"

Although Oh Ji-Soo was not happy as he had already started with his insults, she still had to make him understand things from the right perspective in order to stop more insults from coming at her.

"President Kim, profit is still important to a big company like Dream Axis, and we cannot embark on any project that will make us suffer financially. We cannot afford to work with a tight budget on a big project like..."

"Hence you decided for Dream Axis?" Kim Ji-hun said, cutting her off while glaring at her.

At the moment, he looked like if it were possible to shoot glaciers from his eyes, he would have already hit her down with it without thinking it twice.

He was that furious with her.
