The Third Wheel

Zoe was a bit disappointed. Sure, she and Gabriel were literally strangers, but at this point, she assumed he knew her enough not to ask such a question. 

But then, Gabriel suddenly burst into laughter, startling her. He pointed at her, saying, "Look at you being so serious. Of course, I know that you're not gay. I was merely pulling your leg." He lied through his teeth. Gabriel was simply fast on picking on emotion and now, he could tell he had failed her expectations. 

"Is that so? That's a relief." Zoe bought it, without suspecting a thing. 

"Here, eat." He fed her another spoonful, distracting her with the food. 

"So what's your plan then? Are you going to let her go scot-free for what she had done," He asked out of curiosity.
