Chapter Five:

"Wife?" Alfred said shock evident in his voice. Who was this guy? And why the hell was he calling Maya his wife. His plan of getting married to Maya would backfire if he didn't act fast. He didn't want to lose Maya, not because he loved her. He just wanted to make her life a living hell and whoever this guy was, he was trying to mess his plans up.

"Wow, you see this uncle? What is there to deny again? What did you tell me? Maya would never do such a thing but here's proof," Alfred said taking advantage of the old man weakness and it made Maya angry.

"Shut up Alfred!" She yelled and a deafening silence followed as everyone looked at her. "You are getting what you want right? Are you happy now? Or you want to see my head rolling on the ground? Huh?," Maya pauses and took in a deep breath, wiped her tears and continued.

"I loved you Alfred but I guess none of that meant anything to you because you didn't think twice before inviting another woman into your bed," Maya who was already tired from all the crying yelled and for the first time since she came in, her dad looked at her. That wasn't the gaze she was used to. The love and warmth in his eyes had been replaced by a cold expression.

"When are you going to stop all these lies? There's the evidence and you still want to deny it?" Dad sneered. "Save the lies Maya," he cut her off when she was about to speak.

"Alfred here has done enough to help this family and you still betray him?"

"Dad, he betrayed me. He betrayed this family. He's the lair dad not me!" Maya yelled out feeling frustrated.

"Wow, I still can't believe this uncle. There's the proof. This man here just called her wife and she's still lying to our faces, I just can't handle this," Alfred said playing the victim. Maya still could not believe this was the man she was love with and had to planned to marry. How could a person be so cunning.

"I really don't blame her, mom. I blame dad. He always overlooked the wrong she did and never said anything about it," Amanda said clearly pleased. Why won't she be? Ever since she stepped into this house the only thing her and her evil mother have done is cause trouble between her dad and her. Dad never believed whatever they said and he always found a way to defend me. But today when I needed that support, there was none. The thought of that brought fresh tears into my eyes.

"Dad please, don't do this. I'll do anything," Maya yelled when her father started walking away but he didn't even turn. Maya knew all hope has been lost. Her father was neither believing her nor was he going to change his mind. She was all alone here and she had to fight.

An idea suddenly struck her and she turned to the man who had called her wife earlier. Alfred must have paid him to do it. If she got him to confess, then Alfred's true colors would be revealed.

"Sir please I know this monster here paid you to act like this but you can see an innocent girl's life being ruined. Please tell my dada the truth," Maya turned to Damian and begged. Seeing him not move a muscle, Maya fell to her and sobbed desperately. There was nothing she could do again.

"Amanda, send her luggage downstairs and makes sure she leaves. She's no longer welcomed here," with that Amanda watched her dad disappear into his room.

Once Tony was gone, Lisa shared a triumphant smile with her daughter. Finally Maya was leaving and her daughter was going to live the life she has always dreamed of. Now with Maya out of the way, she had to make sure Amanda got married to Alfred. She had tried to put Amanda and Alfred together in the past but he was so into Maya, he didn't even notice her daughter. That was what fueled her hatred towards Maya, apart from Maya constantly reminding her of her mom.

"Wow, that was tiring," Alfred sighed and bent close to Maya. "Wipe those tears off your pretty face darling," he smiled, trying to touch Maya but she slapped his hand away and shot him a glare.

"You still have that fire," he chuckled. "But don't worry, it'll quench soon. But I'll I make sure you have nothing. That'll be your punishment for going against me," Alfred said to Maya and it didn't escape Damian's ear.

"I'll make sure you come crawling back to me," Alfred said with an evil smirk. Before he could say another word, he felt a heavy punch against his cheek. He groaned in pain as he raised his head to look at Damian. If looks could kill, then Alfred would definitely be six feet underground.

Without a word, Damian lifted Maya bridal style and began walking away. Maya was too weak and traumatized to protest. When he was almost at the door, he turned to Lisa and said coldly:

"Tell your daughter to keep the luggage since she seems to like what my wife already used." He didn't even wait to look at Lisa's shocked face.

The man who was waiting quietly by the car quickly pulled the door open when he saw Damian approaching. Damian gently put Maya down before settling down himself. The man shut the door with some small force before walking over to the driver's side and soon they were on their way.

The ride was in a comfortable silence and Damian couldn't help but wonder what all the drama was about. One thing he hated was drama and he would do absolutely anything to end it before it started. Standing there watching all that going on made him want to bury bullets in the brains of everyone present, especially his wife's father.

Which father would believe a stranger over his daughter? And even go to the extent of throwing her out of the house? As much as he wanted to stay out of all this, he also had a strong urge to dig into the matter for an unknown reason. He quickly sent the pic he took of Alfred secretly to Ron.

"I need information on him by tomorrow," he added. Seconds later, he received Ron's reply and Damian shoved his phone away.

"How much did Alfred pay you for this job?" A calm voice drew his attention. He turned to see her giving him a questioning gaze.

"I promise to give you double the amount if you go back and tell my dad the truth," Maya said determination filled in her voice. Damian couldn't believe she wanted to go back after all this.

"Ten million dollars," Damian replied, deciding to play along.

"What?! He was willing to pay you that?" She was obviously shocked.

"Yeah and if you'll double the prize I'll be willing to expose him," Damian said.

"Is there anyway else, I don't have that much money," Maya said looking away, suddenly feeling embarrassed.

"Then you'll have to stay with me for a year," Damian said and a soft palm landed on his cheek in the form of a slap. The slap didn't hurt but Damian hated when people made physical contact with him and he turned his dark eyes towards Maya who gulped in fear.

"I....I...I am sorr...y," she stammered but it was already too late.
