55- The dangerous situation...1

Upon Elder Zheng Wei's proclamation, the entire clan and sect participants assembled at a designated location, as they would not be transported to the same destination, thus, they had to select a spot to regroup upon arrival at the Thousand Beast Valley.

Zhong Peng opted to join forces with the Duan clan, as they had agreed upon a specific rendezvous point for their regrouping in the valley.

After some time had elapsed, all the participants of the Cloud Gathering Contest had made adequate preparations for the Hunting Contest.

They had now gathered before the teleportation formation, ready to embark on their journey.

However, just before their departure, Elder Zheng Wei made a startling announcement that left everyone stunned. He declared, "One final thing before you depart. The last five hundred individuals remaining within the Beast Valley will be the only ones to qualify for the next stage of the contest."

Upon hearing Elder Zheng Wei's announcement, a massive uproar erupted throughout the vicinity.

Even Zhong Peng was taken aback by the news. However, Elder Zheng Wei paid no heed to the commotion and proceeded to issue further instructions, saying, "Bear in mind that no participant is permitted to use lethal force against a fellow participant. Also, remember that no participant is allowed to remain hidden in one spot for too long, lest he or she be eliminated from the contest," After a brief pause, Elder Zheng Wei inquired, "Does anyone have any questions regarding what I have just stated?"

One of the individuals in the crowd raised his hand, indicating that he had a question to ask. Elder Zheng Wei nodded in affirmation, granting the young man permission to speak. The inquisitive lad then queried, "Given that the duration of our stay in the Thousand Beast Valley is the determinant for qualifying for the next round, is there any other reason why we should hunt qi Beasts since it won't be the qualifying factor?"

When Elder Zheng Wei heard the young man's question, he nodded his head in approval and praised him for his astute question. He then went on to elaborate, "Although hunting Qi Beasts won't guarantee qualification for the next stage, the participants who do qualify will be ranked based on the number of Qi Beasts and Qi Cores they have collected. Therefore, although hunting Qi Beasts is not a prerequisite for qualification, it is still necessary for securing a favorable rank in the next stage of the contest," he looked around and inquiredAnyny other questions"

Another young man raised his hand once more to indicate that he had a question. Elder Zheng Wei nodded his approval. "May someone eliminate the other participants?" he inquired.

"As long as you refrain from utilizing any special artifact or weapon, refrain from executing a fatal maneuver against any of the participants, and avoid lingering in a concealed location for an excessive duration, you are permitted to engage in any other activities of your choosing," Elder Zheng Wei declared.

He directed his gaze towards the assemblage of participants, seeming to offer them the chance to pose any other question they wished to ask.

After a period of waiting during which no one appeared to have any further inquiries, Elder Zheng Wei announced, "You may now enter the teleportation formation." He added, "Remember to strive to survive for as long as you desire, and I wish you the best of luck in the forthcoming hunting contest."

Following Elder Zheng Wei's instructions, people began to enter the teleportation formation one by one, and in no time, they were all transported to the Thousand Beast Valley.

When it was Zhong Peng's turn, he stepped into the formation and immediately felt a warm sensation enveloping him. A powerful force began to pull him in, and suddenly, a brilliant light shone in his eyes as he was whisked away toward his destination.

As Zhong Peng opened his eyes again, he found himself no longer standing in the teleportation formation. Instead, he was now standing in a desolate land, surrounded by large and small rocks.

The scorching sun beat down upon him, and the heat was almost unbearable.

The barren landscape stretched out before him, with no signs of life in sight.

Realizing that he was in an unfamiliar and desolate place, Zhong Peng swiftly took out the map to determine his current location, he carefully examined the map.

After looking over the map for a while, Zhong Peng suddenly sprang into action, taking off at a sprint with all the speed and urgency he could muster.

It was as though he was running for his life, fleeing from some unseen danger that lurked in the shadows.

At that very moment, a deafening roar echoed through the barren landscape, shaking the very ground beneath his feet, but Zhong Peng did not even bother to look back, for he knew that whatever it was, it was not something he wanted to face.

Instead, he pushed himself even harder, running with all the strength and determination he had left in his body, hoping to escape the danger that pursued him.
