Chapter 31: Get Together

“Stop pacing, Katrina. You’re going to burn a hole in the floor,” Grams said and chuckled.

“I’m sorry, okay? I’m just super nervous. What if they don’t like me?”

“They will love you,” Grams said and rolled her eyes.

“You sound so sure.”

“As warm, creative, kind, and amazing as you are, I am sure.” Grams smiled weakly at me.

I sighed and knelt in front of her. “Grams, you look off. Are you okay? Maybe you should see a doctor.”

“Katrina Marie, I’m perfectly fine. You have no reason to worry about me. I’m just a little tired. I get up early, you know.” Grams caressed my cheek.

I wrapped my fingers around her hand and smiled at her. “I love you, Grams. Thank you.”

She looked baffled. “I love you too, sweetheart, but what are you thanking me for?”

“Being the world’s best Grams, taking care of me, teaching me, and just everything.”
