The Mission

Before the sun was up Lasso woke up. He slowly sat and stretched then reached for his hat and coat. Which were both gone. "Huh?..." he mumbled quietly looking around then he noticed the sleeping bag next to him was also empty. Pippin's sleeping bag. He quickly got up and went outside to see Pippin, using her spear(she stole from a gang trying to rob her for food) as a crutch. She was wearing his coat and hat along with a black shirt and sweatpants of her own. She looked like she was packing for something.

"Where do you think your going." He whispered and she turned to him. "I'm going with you and Shiny" she smiled and went back to putting a few magazines in her back pack then putting one in her gun, which was a rifle. "Excuse me?! You are not leaving this campsite." He snapped, trying his best to be quiet. "Well I want to help. They'll never suspect anyone sending someone who's already injured am I right?" She argued with an innocent smile.

"Um- Pip you really shouldn't come-" Shiny finally spoke up, he had been getting his stuff together too. "I'm tired of sitting around, I'm coming to help." She declared but Lasso wasn't having it. "Pippin either you get back in that tent and go back to sleep or Im putting you back to sleep and in that tent forcefully." He snapped at her but all she did was give him a hug. "Actually ya know Lasso I think you've been working too much. You haven't gotten a break in what months? Or years I can't remember what you told me honestly." She giggled but he frowned uncertain. "Where are you going with this?.." he asked getting a little suspicious of why she was bringing this all up.

Shiny sat there and watched what was happening. He was very confused so he just quietly sat on a log.

Pippin then laid her head on Lasso's shoulder. "You also look very tired so goodnight Las" she smiled and he felt something prick the back of his neck, it felt like he was getting a shot(like at a doctor's office). "The hell was that?-" he asked but then his vision started to blur and he stumbled a little, tripping over one of the logs but Shiny quickly got up and caught him before he hit the ground. "Pip?! What did you-" he started to ask then he saw the tranquilizer dart in the back of Lasso's neck. "Oh your in trouble later-" Shiny then took the dart out of Lasso's neck and dropped it. "What do I do with him?-" he whispered. "Just put him in the tent and let's go-" Pippin ordered and Shiny did just that.

Pippin grabbed her backpack and walked with Shiny as best she could. "I still think you shouldn't come.." Shiny tried to protest but Pippin shook her head. "Do I need to put you down for a nap too?" She looked at him with a teasing smile and he shook his head no.

They didn't get two the old hotel until 2 hours later and the sun was barely coming up. At the front gates there was two big guards posted there. Both of them looking tired and angry and their eyes locked on the newcomers. "Who are you." The first guard demanded. "Name's Pippin! How ya doin boys!" She smiled and tipped her hat(the hat she stole off of Lasso). "And this is my buddy Shiny!" She gently nudged Shiny and he just smiled awkwardly. "We're here for the games! Mind if we come in buddy?" Pippin asked with a charming smile and the guard simply sighed. "Got any money Crippled?"(Normal money was still used in some cases, usually to buy food but taxes aren't a thing no more). "Yes yes I do!" She leaned on Shiny while she rummaged through her bag and gave them enough for her and Shiny to pass through.

"Weapons." The second guard demanded, holding his hand out and they both handed their guns to the guard. "All weapons missy." He motioned to the spear. "Well uh bud- I'm kinda on a busted leg and this is my crutch so uh- no can do-" she politely pointed out. "Eh leave her be Brutus not like she can do anything, come on in you two." The first guard said while opening the gate, letting Shiny and Pippin through. "Hey Crippled! Just go through those doors and pretty sure breakfast for the guests is being set up!"One of the guards shouted as Shiny and Pippin walked through the doors. Phase one of the plan has been completed.
