Many people saw and watched Cypher's angry outburst. Almost all of them agreed that she needed to go and she was a danger to the town. All but one boy. One boy who was just walking to one of the trading posts had stopped and watched in aw as this girl took down 4 people by herself. He had no clue what she was mad about but he could easily tell that it was personal. He had watched some Latino cowboy carry her inside and decided he wanted to talk to her once she woke up again. He sat on the ground a few yards away from the house and waited. He had a feeling it was going to take awhile but he had time. He had no family to go home to and had no job. He watched the small lady he thinks her name is Mama something walk away and return how's later with puffy eyes and her head was down. He did feel bad for the poor lady but he was too nervous to go talk to her, she didn't look to be in the mood.
It was late in the afternoon when the girl he watched fight had finally stormed back out. A big dog tried to run after her but then got called back by somebody in the house. He watched her walk for awhile before getting up and following. He didn't get too close because he was afraid at first and was also avoiding suspicion. He followed her to the fence line on the empty side of town and waited for her to look calm enough to approach. She just sat and watched the land that was passed the fence. She didn't move for awhile.
Cypher needed to get away from people to calm down. Lasso was pissed at her as always but this time it was scratching his arms badly and attacking 4 other people. Pippin was trying to talk to her to see what happened but she wasn't in the mood to talk. So she had just stormed out and walked to the fence. No one comes out to the fence except for Lasso and the fence guards. Cypher didn't see a kid following her. She finally noticed the boy when she heard a twig snap behind her and she quickly turned. She saw a young boy, around 5'2-5'4 with dark brown skin and coal black hair. He wore a white t shirt and black leather coat. Boy stared at her with big brown eyes. "Uh- hi!-" he smiled nervously and froze. She was glaring at him and had a big hunting knife in her hand. Clear unapproachable signs but he decided to ignore them. He slowly started to approach her again. Treating the situation like someone trying to approach an aggressive stray dog. The boy held his hands up meaning he meant no harm, doubting that she thinks he'd be able to cause any harm any.
"Who are you." She growled at him and he froze. "Well- um- I'm Charlie" he tried to keep from stuttering but was still shaking. "What do you want." She rolled her eyes and turned away from him again. She slouched and rested her arms on her knees. "Just to talk that's all" he went to her side and plopped down next to her. "I don't want to talk." She snapped at him. "Can I know your name at least?" He asked. He was one of the few that didn't really hear about who all ran Dead End because he was just a child. "Cypher" she mumbled and he sat there thinking. "I've heard your name before...but where..." he muttered to himself and she shrugged. "Tiger Fang's daughter, leader of Dead End, any of those ring a bell?" She listed and he slowly nodded.
"Why did you hurt those 4 people?" He asked after a minute of silence. "None of your concern kid." She sighed. "Ok- sounds good-" he didn't bother argue cause he didn't know how short of a fuse she had. So Charlie decided to just sit quietly until she continued the conversation. He was starting to get bored of the silence so he looked at her. "Want a hug?" He asked but she simply glared at him. "I'll take that as a no." He dropped his arms and looked back into the zombie littered land beyond the fence. "How old are you?" She finally asked after 10 minutes of silence. He smiled. "15!" He told her and Cypher sat there and thought for a moment. "Another after fall baby huh?" She mumbled and he nodded. "Yep pep! That's me!" He smiled.
They talked until nightfall and Ret came looking for Cypher. Cypher had decided that Charlie is staying with them once she found out he didn't have a home. She didn't give him much of a choice either and he was too afraid to argue. When they walked back to the house Cypher and Ret shared he curiously roamed. He started to wander to Jet's bedroom when he felt someone grab his shoulder and shove him away from it. He turned to see angry Ret. "Don't go in there." He told him and Charlie nodded. "Yes sir-" he quickly retreated to Cypher again. When it was time for bed Charlie was confined to the couch for the night while Ret and Cypher went to sleep in their rooms.
In the middle of the night Charlie woke up to one of the bedroom doors opening. He sat up and peered down the hall to see Ret coming out of his room. Charlie silently watched him slip into Cypher's room he curiously got up and snuck down the hall once Ret was in Cypher's room. He peered through the cracked door and saw the big man curl up in Cypher's arms. They both seemed to have not slept yet. He silently crept away from the door when he saw Ret falling asleep. He went back to the couch and laid down. Charlie couldn't sleep for the rest of the night. He was too busy wondering what was behind the door Ret had warned him not to go through and why they both seemed to be oddly aggressive today. He didn't want to ask because he thought it would've possibly been to personal so he left it alone for now.
