Nothing Much

"All right, all right, you can sit. Just stop with heartbroken sad stories." –Jon gave up and let Olen do as he pleased.

He is too tired to care about him. What he needed first was to get a shower.

Nothing beats a warm bath after a long day of hard work.

But still, he couldn't enjoy this feeling peacefully because each moment he was wasting enjoying his bath here, the closer the gap between him and Olen was getting. And he had no intention of getting overtaken by that brat anytime soon.

That brat may look like a wimp, but he is a dedicated and tenacious one. Kids like him should be like Chlera and Petra, carefree and obedient…. No, no, scratch that. Those two are also very persistent in causing trouble and not obedient at all.

That made Jon think, was there any good kid out there? And the answer he came up with is 'No'. That's why they are called brats.

Jon finished his shower quickly and joined him in his meditation session.

Ever since Olen started training with Elena, he has been making tremendous improvements.

It was not that he was getting stronger… No, he did get stronger, but not much physically. Jon felt that the kid was getting sharper. He was getting more adaptive and experienced. The things that Jon learned after years of struggle, Olen was watching them and making them his own.

This way, he felt threatened for his position to be overtaken by Olen very soon.

He was happy that Olen was getting stronger, but he was also getting anxious that he wasn't making any clear progress.

That's why he felt compelled to ask for help from Elena.

.

At the same time, Elena was lying in bed in her room.

She thought it was still okay to push herself a bit. But that was clearly not the case.

She had no choice but to rest. Why did she do something so unnecessary?

She didn't have an answer.

But now she was feeling weak again. Maybe that's why she was thinking about home.

She was thinking about her father, her aunt, and the maid who always took care of her. People like Gallad that was still at her home.

Those people loved her, and just like Gallad, they were willing to die for her. But she wasn't thinking about their faithfulness and whatnot. What she wanted was to see their living face.

Her aunt had taught her everything. She taught her how to read, how to fight, and how to survive in the worst situation. But she didn't teach her how to live alone.

Her father wanted her to be stronger and had her travel in a lot of dangerous places, but she was never alone.

She thought she would be fine on her own wherever she was. But she didn't know the only thing that she wasn't taught would be haunting her now.

She is an heir to a famous noble house. She had seen many deaths before her eyes. Men killed by men, men killed by beasts. She was a strong twenty-two-year-old young Miss, but she felt like she was crumbling from inside.

This is a sign of weakness. Was she that weak? She didn't know.

Maybe, she is weak, or maybe, this feeling has nothing to do with weakness. But that doesn't matter now.

What matters is how she is supposed to make up for this weakness.

In these two months, this is the first time Elena really thought about herself in her weakened state. In this period of time, she didn't have any thoughts other than to recover herself and get her revenge. But in this area where there is no conflict or no politics involving her, she truly felt relieved. And she was thinking if her home too could be this peaceful. These thoughts kept her all night.

The next morning.

She heard a knock on the door early in the morning.

She wasn't asleep to begin with, so she went downstairs to get the door.

Normally, the maid would be getting the door. But ever since Olen started his training in the evening, she had been letting the maid go. The maid would be coming back with her food a bit later in the morning because Elena likes to sleep in.

The person knocking on the door is not the maid for sure.

"Who is it?" -She asked.

"Big Sis, it's me, Chlera." –Chlera said from outside.

"And me too." –Petra's sweet voice came too.

Elena opened the door.

Sure enough, the two were standing in front of her door. A maid was standing behind them holding a pot.

"What are you doing this early in the morning?" –Elena said.

"We'll tell you. But you need to get inside first." –Chlera said.

"Yes, Big sis. You should tell us first if you are ill." –Petra held her hand and led her inside to put her in bed.

The maid took out a bowl and poured the contents from the pot before bringing it to them.

Chlera took the bowl from her and spoon-fed Elena. It was a plain porridge.

"Who said I was ill." –Elena said confusedly after taking a spoon.

"Big Brother Olen did. He went to Mom and said that you were ill." –Petra replied.

"Brother was saying that you have skipped a meal in the evening too. So, Mom made us bring this back to you." –Chlera said while feeding another spoon of porridge to her.

"Where is your mom? She could have just sent a maid to bring this to me. You didn't have to come too." –Elena said. Elena didn't ask why Olen went to Aleta instead of Bianca.

She knew all the maids in the Alden house were managed by Aleta. So, things like this were left to her.

Also, she knew that Olen was very close to Aleta. The same way she was close to her aunt.

So, it was very normal for him to go to her.

But what she didn't understand was, how that stupid kid knew that she didn't eat the meal in the evening. Was he spying on her again?

She must teach him a lesson when she gets a hold of him.

"Mom said we should go first. When a person is ill, they like to see people that they know the most and not unfamiliar people." –Chlera said.

Petra was sitting beside her and patting her head.

Elena felt something wail inside her. This comfort, this warmth, she felt what she really needed was this.

"Say Aaaa." –Chlera said.

"Aaa." –Elena indulged too.

""" Hehehe…""" –All of them laughed together.

These kids had their own way of getting to her heart.

"So, where's your Big brother?" –Elena asked. These three are always together. But when she thought that he would be the first one to come, he was nowhere to be found.

"Oh, Big brother said he won't come." –Chlera said again.

"He said that you would beat him up if he came right now. He is really stupid, right? Why would you do that?" –Petra said.

Hearing her, Elena smiled.

'This disciple of mine knows me well.' –she thought. She had to praise Olen for having enough brain to know how to save his skin.

"Yeah, he really is stupid. Why would I do smoothing like that?" -She replied.

After having a warm breakfast she was finally able to have a pleasant sleep.
