Effect of Tulin

The whole day went by without any event.

In the evening, Berdly came to Elena's home to look for her. He said it was urgent.

So, Elena reluctantly got up to talk with him.

She was taken care of by Chlera and Petra the whole day. They got tired and now are sleeping in the next room to her.

Aleta too brought a pudding she made herself at noon, and it was delicious. Sweets really did wonder to her mood.

Elena knew that the fourth Baroness was different from the other three. Jully even said that Aleta was an airhead and did whatever she liked. But Elena liked this one very much.

She is a very caring and warm-hearted person. She is stubborn. Like... how she insisted on making the pudding today by herself and didn't let the chef do anything. She understood the other baronesses must have a lot of trouble with dealing with this one.

They just couldn't dislike her or scold her for being inappropriate sometimes.

Anyway, after a full day of being groomed, Elena was mentally feeling a lot better.

About her spirit wound, she couldn't do anything but wait and rest. But for that, the everyday life can't be stopped.

"What is it? You said it's urgent?" –Elena.

"Yes. A lot of perfumer representatives came by the shop today. They were thinking that we made this by a fluke and wanted to buy the formula." –Berdly said. He had been busy dealing with all types of people all day long and most of them were representatives of different companies.

"So? What's the big issue? I already said something like this would happen. Then why are you saying this like it's urgent." –Elena didn't want to be bothered with every single issue.

"Yes, you said it. But a lot of them were from those big shops. And they have a lot of influence. You didn't say the scale would be this big. So, I wasn't expecting something like this." –Berdly said nervously.

"You didn't sell the formula after being nervous, did you?" –Elena looked at him questioningly.

"No, I'm a merchant too. How could I not maximize my benefits when I'm standing on top of this much wealth?" –Berdly said. "It's just that they were so oppressing I wanted to talk with you about it."

"Oh, then it's fine. Please pour yourself another cup of tea and be comfortable." –Elena said. She had no intention of getting up to pour him some tea.

Berdly was fine with it too. The act of getting his own tea made him feel comfortable. It's like he wasn't just a guest here.

He poured Elena a cup too, which she didn't refuse.

"So, how much did they offer?" –Elena asked.

"Between fifteen to twenty-five thousand gold." –Berdly said a bit shakily. He had never seen that much money at once. That is enough for him to live the rest of his life peacefully. But that wasn't what shook him so much. "But the representative of Heaven's dream offered a total of sixty thousand gold."

"Oh, that much? Your marketing must have been very great to be able to hook that kind of big fish's attention." –Elena too thought that the initial offer would be that much. Of course, she understood what she was selling. There is a hidden effect when someone puts this perfume.

Because of the night-fall flower effect the accumulation of spirit is slightly faster. That rate is about two percent. But that's still an effect that is more like a passive effect. So, that's a lot.

The other effect is due to the constant stimulation of the poison. The spirit becomes more sensitive to the surroundings in turn makes the wearer more aware of the surroundings. So the wearer feels more confident. That confidence shows in their movements and brings out their charm.

There was a perfumer who used the nightfall flower to make perfume. However, the process in which it is made might reduce the effect to almost zero.

What Elena did was optimize these effects to maximize the benefits.

'Is the hidden effect has already been discovered?' –Elena thought to herself.

When one feels the difference between Tulin and other high-quality perfumes they wouldn't want to change their perfume anymore.

But if this effect became known by others, the covetous eye would bring a lot of trouble to her. And the level Elena and Berdly are right now, it would become a very bumpy road for them.

Elena didn't want that to happen. So, the fewer people that knew, the better. She didn't even say it to Berdly.

"I didn't do much. Apparently, Madam Amanda put up a very good show in her tea party. And her connections are all with the rich ladies of the city. So, the name spread a lot faster than I anticipated." –Berdly replied.

"I'm sure she did. That reminds me, Berdly, did you find a place for the workshop?" –Elena asked. She knew when the products took off they wouldn't be able to keep up with the demand at all. So, she asked him to find a safe location for the factory.

"Yes, it's near the west gate of Alden house. It's near to the mansion. So the safety of it should be assured." -Berdly.

"That's great then. We'll need to hire more men for the factory next. Please keep a lookout for trustworthy people." –Elena asked.

"I know. I will. But, Miss Elenora, that heaven's dream representative really made me nervous this time. Will it be okay?" –Berdly said.

"Don't worry too much about it. The goal should be the production rate of the product." –Elena. "The market would be saturated in a month. So, the crazy sale that is going on right now will slow down by then. But that is the time we will make the most money. So, we'll need to bring our production rate as high as possible by then."

Berdly nodded, He didn't know what Elena meant when she said the money would come when the sales go down. But he didn't care. He had confidence that Elena must have a plan in mind. And he would know when the time is right.

She had earned that much confidence from him.

"And remember not to make trouble with those shops. Keep a friendly relationship with them and stall for time. We'll need them."

"Okay. I'll see what I can do." –Berdly. "Miss, Elenora. You haven't visited my shop even once, have you?"

"I've seen it from outside once. It's a nice place." –Elena said.

"Why don't you come to have tea there once? I understand that you aren't feeling good these days?" –Berdly invited.

"Hmm." –Elena thought for a bit.

There's no harm in visiting the shop once in a while.

She was getting bored doing the same thing every day anyway.

So she replied positively.

"All right, how about tomorrow." –Elena asked.

"That's perfect. I'll get some fresh tea leaves for you." –Berdly said smilingly.

He had been stressed out the whole day. He had never faced this kind of pressure before. Just talking to people with a lot of money was hard. And who he talked with the whole day were people that were hounds looking at him like he was a fat sheep. That is truly scary.

But after talking to Elena a bit, he felt that the heart of a mouse had a little room to breathe.

They talked about random stuff the rest of the time over tea.

After half an hour, Berdly left Elena's home. He was feeling relieved.

"Oi, Berdly…" –came a shout from the side just as he left Elena's home.

Berdly faced toward the sound. He knew this voice very well. This is a very hateful voice he was coming to loath.

It was none other than Olen.

"What business do you have with me?" –he asked, not hiding his malice even a bit.

"What do you think you are doing bothering Miss Elenora this late?" –Olen said.

"Why would I tell you that? It's none of your business. So get lost." –Berdly said.

"Berdly, you have the nerve to disturb Miss Elenora in her resting time. Do you want a beating?" –Olen threatened. He was acting like an overly affectionate disciple who fell head over heels for his teacher.

"Who do you think I am? Do you think I'm easy to pick? I'll teach you a lesson today." –Berdly couldn't take even a word from this brat anymore. He was totally at war with Olen.

At that moment, the door of Elena's house opened.

"Berdly leave." –Elena said. "Olen, get in here... Now." –she demanded.

Both Olen and Berdly looked at each other with rage in their eyes. But they couldn't disobey Elena. So they stopped their fight and did as she said.

Berdly went back to prepare for the next day. While Olen went inside Elena's house as asked.

Elena looked at these two and couldn't help but sigh.

What is up with these two? Can't they let the bygones be bygones?
