Cristine, an international intern in a hotel, meets a charming navy soldier in Georgia named Drayce. Love in Separation

The couple stands in front of me as they touch each other affectionately. 


I was taken aback but tried my hardest to appear as if I’m not affected. “I met him 8 years ago during my internship,” I said, leaving out the massive detail that we used to date. 


Looking at Drayce, I saw a hint of disappointment in his eyes that I tried my best to ignore. “Oh, that’s nice. I hope you enjoy the party.” 


“I’m not a guest. I’m one of the staff of this hotel.” 


“She’s being modest. She’s the manager of the hotel.” Drayce said smiling proudly my way. 


“Oh, great,” Valerie said, feigning interest. 


“Congratulations on your engagement but I’m afraid I have to be elsewhere. You guys have fun!” 


I quickly made another round before I approach one of the banquet captains that I’ll be heading out for a bit before leaving the function room. 


I can already feel my chest feeling constricted so I went to the elevator and quickly head to the rooftop only a few can go to.
