“If I ask for Mara to spend the weekend with me, will you allow it?” 


Drayce’s voice is filled with so much hopefulness as he asks me the question after picking up Mara from the daycare. 


I switch my gaze from Drayce to Mara before switching back to Drayce once again. “I’ll allow it if she wants to.” 


“Then let’s go ask her.” He confidently said before looking at Mara who is sitting on the couch while drinking her warm milk. “Hey Sweet pea, do you want to spend the weekend with dad?” 


“Do you wanna go to the race tracks?” 


“It’s a place where we are allowed to drive fast in a car.” 


At that moment, I have never seen Mara’s eyes sparkle so much. She then proceeded to place her glass of milk on the coffee table, run towards Drayce, and jump on him. When Drayce catches him, she immediately showers him with kisses. “Yaay I wanna go! Thanks, Dad!”
