Chapter 16

The next day came faster than expected as Thann and Quinlan began to prepare for the security job that Tana had prepared for them which would take a couple of days, on top of that they sparred one another to keep their skills sharp along with Quinlan teaching Thann how to shoot a blaster with speed and accuracy just in case they couldn't bring their normal weapons. After their morning workout Thann asked the question that had been bothering him since meeting Tana " So what's you and Tanas' relationship?" Quinlan gave Thann a funny look and tried to find a way to explain himself without setting himself for expulsion from the council yet he knew that at some point it was bound to come up due to what happened the day before.

Finally Quinlan found the words he was looking for " Thann I don't know how your master trained you when it came to the opposite gender or if you might like the same gender either way now that your a knight you can have a girlfriend just don't bring her to the Temple ok," Thann kind of understood what Quinlan was saying so he asked for a better explanation " So your saying that I can have a romantic relationship just don't bring her to the Jedi Temple?" Quinlan nodded his head confirming what Thann was saying, but Thann still didn't understand " I thought the code forbid us from having attachments." The younger Jedi stated in confusion and that was something Quinlan knew could wreck the young man so he did his best to help his understanding " You can have a romance here and there buddy and as for the code it allows it as long as you don't let the attachment control you." Thann listened to what Quinlan said and thought back to some of what his master said to him about the Jedi Code " The code is a good guideline to follow but it should not control every aspect of your life or being." and so Thann decided that he would get his first ' girlfriend' but where to start he had no idea, so he asked Quinlan the next question on his mind " Quinlan how do I go about getting a girlfriend?" The question somewhat threw Quinlan since his apprentices mostly learned by watching him on how to talk to whoever they had an interest in still he could give Thann some pointers and he would have to learn the rest from experience. After hearing what Quinlan thought was good pointers on how to approach someone but he still wanted another opinion so he approached Tana.

" Hey Tana do you have a minute to talk?" which surprised the older woman and at the same piqued her interest " yeah I have a minute, what can I do for you?" Thann got a bit embarrassed as he began to realize that hearing a woman's opinion was something that had never happened but he knew that he wanted to achieve his goal so he centered himself and asked the question that was nagging his mind " I want to know how to approach a woman romantically?" Tana was again surprised at the question but this time her surprise was written all over her face as she tried her best to maintain her composure and hold the laughter that was trying to escaper her mouth but it was to no avail, for about a whole minute Tana was sitting on the ground laughing at the question that Thann had just presented to here the reason which seemed to allude him and so he waited until her fit of laughter was done, after a few a moments had gone by Tana had finally regained her composure and then asked Thann a question " Didn't Quinlan teach you anything or all you Jedi romantically deprived?" Thann told her what Quinlan had said " he told me to be cool and be mysterious, but I don't get what he means it all goes over my head." Tana understood that if she could have good man in her life just how she liked it then this would be her chance but she knew that he was way to young for her so she decided to help out her zeltron companion.

" Kid I'll give you the best and only pointer you'll ever need just be your self and have confidence in your approach but don't be arrogant no one likes an arrogant person especially the person your trying to romance, now take all that and go practice on Lenaas since she's the only one available to talk as of now."

Thann took mental notes on everything Tana said up and till she mentioned that he should practice his approach on the other female in the room and he suddenly became embarrassed and Tana noticed this and began to laugh all over again just not as hard as she did the first time and then quickly recovered " Don't think to hard about it just approach her and ask how her day is going and see where it goes from there." Thann once again mentally noted what he was told and then went on his way to find Lenaas. As Thann began his search for Lenaas he soon found himself at the front of the shop looking at all the rifles hanging on the rack that covered the secret entrance to the apartment and thought to himself 'I wonder if Quinlan will teach me how to use one of these later on?' and he began to imagine being in situations where he would be required to use one and then began to realize that his lightsaber was almost unnecessary in combat if he combined his use of the force with a blaster but he also knew that his lightsaber was also a symbol to the oppressed so he knew that keeping his would mean he would need to keep his skills sharp at all times, and as he stood there deep in thought he didn't notice that he was being watched until he instinctively moved his head as flying object came flying in the direction it had been and then he heard her voice.

" So Jedi really do have a sixth sense, good to know for the upcoming mission." Lenaas said calmly as if nothing had happened but Thann did not share her mood and said so " Is this how you treat guest or is it just me?" Lenaas smirked and said what had been on her mind since the Jedi had arrived " No I only give a hard time to those mess with Tana and since your hanging out with that other jedi Quinlan you'll get the same treatment that I give him until he makes things right." Thann wasn't sure as to what she was talking about nor did he like being lumped together with someone else's trouble and told Lenaas this " Look what ever is going on between Quinlan and Tana has nothing to do with me so please can we just be nice to one another?" Thann had hoped that what he said had reached her and used the force to check, what he sensed left him confused since all he could tell was that her emotions were all over the place until she finally spoke " Well if you want to me to be nice than just act nice and I'll do the same." Thann was glad that they had come to an agreement and then he remembered what Tana had told him earlier " So how has your day been going so far?" Lenaas was a bit surprised at the question and answered " It's been so good so far, why do you ask?" to which Thann knew that if he told her his intention he would get no where so he kept his answer simple " I just wanted to know, is that a crime?" he asked and Lenaas decided to not to answer but she was still surprised that he had asked.

Later Thann and Quinlan had another training session which entailed him learning how to quick draw and hit his target without relying on the force as well as training with vibroblades instead of their lightsabers since the didn't want to attract the attention of any passerby's as which increased the level Thanns skill level since this style of blade work required a different level of attention as well as strength than what he was used to in lightsaber combat from their he Quinlan had him practice with a dueling drone so as to keep his deflection skills sharp since the situation they were about to face would most definitely require the deflection skillset that form three had and since Thann knew that if he didn't practice he'd lose the skill so he pushed not knowing that someone else was watching him aside from the older Jedi.

The next few days came and wen was when the Jedi would finally fulfill their promise of protection for the information that Tana had given them and so Quinlan and Thann thoroughly prepared for what could possibly lie ahead.
