Can't fight this war 1

Few minutes before the celebrations began, Sheila had gone to see the ability users. She'd already informed them about the brewing war but not what the reward was. She feared they'll all panic and make rash decisions but.... Was she right to hide it from them? A few of them had connections with some of the wolves already and that could expose her Mendacity.

Now she was going to see them to know if they'll fight with the werewolves or leave for their own safety because neither she nor Amelia were going to lead them, they finally found their home and they were going to stay and fight for it, her especially, Amelia was out of it due to her present condition.

"Sheila, child." An aged beautiful lady calls out immediately she catches sight of a distrait Sheila who firmly stood at the door to the little hall of their meeting playing with her fingers with eyes glued to the floor.

Sheila's breath hitches as she is jolted from her thoughts. She saunters towards them, funny how there was a time when they could actually create a small village with their numbers and now, here they were, less than twenty, others, either dead or in hiding or in fact trying to blend with humans.

"The war is going to begin today!" She drops the bombshell with head held high. She was, most times the confident one but Amelia was more powerful!

"Yeah, we heard." The same lady speaks again with her eyes watching Sheila very closely. "And we also heard how our cores, the thing that brings life to us is the reward." She didn't sound so offended but disappointed. Hilda wished Sheila had at least told them.

"And I hope you forgive me for I wasn't aware of your intentions at keeping this from Amelia." Her voice drops lowly

This had Sheila's eyes broaden, "what!?" She screeched.

"It was my mistake Shea, I couldn't find you and thought to speak with Amelia instead, I didn't know she also was clueless." A weak mellifluous voice speaks out, a juvenile with head hung low and voice feeble with guilt.

Seeing the girl's reaction, Sheila sighs defeatedly. "She was going to find out anyway, a lot of things are getting out of order, these dark witches have played their cards accordingly this time...and I'm sorry I hid the truth, I thought I could prevent...." She pauses seeing Hilda's raised hand.

"I'm not making choices for anyone but...I can't,I can't fight this war, I'm leaving."
