Kede, with dark circles under his eyes, shook his head vigorously. "No, they are all dead islands. My men have suffered heavy losses. What about you?"
Charles lifted his empty left sleeve. "The island I explored wasn't either."
The irritable Kede once again turned his gaze to the sea chart on the table. "Then the only ones left are these few. Inside, there must be a path through the Land of Light's Heavenly Ladder or islands used by the 'King' to replenish resources."
Lily jumped onto the map beside him and stomped her foot on the chain of islands furthest away. "Mr. Charles, do you think it's possible they have a really huge ship that can head to those islands without needing supplies?"
A furious Kede pushed Lily away. "What do you know? It's impossible. Look at the distance between here and here. No steamboat in Earth Sea could make such a long voyage, not even the Royal Giant. They must have supply points."
