'I don't know if I will ever get used to this.' Lucian thinks while chugging the brain mush of the last skull.
He then washed himself by the stream.
He then started walking upwards the stream. Furthermore, he knew the dangers of staying in a place. After just being attacked, he wasn't certain if the place was a hub point for more monsters or would someone be attracted to the commotion.
Certainly, not more skull crawlers. He knew from some lore that they were the reason for the Kong extermination.
He was already injured, he doesn't need to find the answer to that with the prospect of more fighting.
So doing the smart thing, he started moving away from that place, now with ever more caution and stealth.
But he was now with a more perplexing thought, eating him with new anxiety.
The skull had surprised him in more ways than one.
When he was taking out his trophies and their brain and heart out, he noticed marks on the skull's bodies, that were not the result of the fight, but were from before.
They looked like restraints.
'Fuck, were they raised as pets.'
And the very thought of it had him shuddering at what could have been.
'Did giants exist in the universe. I can only imagine humans as the species that would even have the thought of using them as pets.'
That's a whole can of worms that Lucian didn't want spilling in this world.
God knows he has his plate full with all that already exists.
'I am probably overthinking this, as the monsterverse only had monsters and not human type giants.'
'Shit, I hope that doesn't become a flag.'
Lucian accelerated his speed to get further away from the battle site.
-
It's been a day from the one vs three fight. He is glad that he didn't encounter any more skulls.
He had been paranoid about why and who, since he first encountered them.
And them not appearing again as elated some of his paranoia… or just help bury it.
'Hmm.'
Plenty of boulders were around him, but size wise it would be better called small hills for humans.
However, what raised his guard was a sound of soft breathing he could hear with his enhanced hearing.
He first hid and saw if he could feel anyone around him.
Not finding any, he started first searching around with extra precaution.
He became hyper focused and moved from one place to another while being surprisingly light on his feet.
He had learned this from the dino.
But leaving that aside, he discovered that the sound of breathing was coming from a well hidden section surrounded with boulders.
After searching for an opening, he attested that there was no way to enter and not alert the beast inside.
He played with the Idea of ignoring and just walking away from here.
He didn't have to see what was inside.
Not like he had a grudge against it, and neither that he needed to hunt every monster he comes across.
Even with all this rational thinking, he just couldn't stop his steps from walking towards the only opening.
'Since there is no way to sneak, then I will come from the main entrance itself.'
Gripping his awl, he walked into the space.
The sight in front however had him shocked.
-
Godzilla might have been the progenitor of the monsterverse series.
There were characters besides him that were also widely famous.
From the behemoths like the destroyer Ghidorah to the massive ape, King Kong.
They each had a massive role in the monsterverse and though had an influence on the world outside at large.
One of the first or the first to revolutionize the public was the fan favorite Mothra.
People just don't know how much Mothra had done for the whole monsterverse at large.
From changing how the titans were viewed, to bringing in hype back to the monsterverse universe whenever the creators needed a boost from mistakes which they made a lot of the time in making a project surrounding the titans.
Now in front of him is the same queen of monsters.
The queen however looked to be injured with a lot of battle marks left on her body and blood having freshly clout on her wounds.
And for the first time after landing on this world did Lucian not react with aggregation like he did for every other monster.
He knew the symbolic nature of the queen was her kind nature.
She has on multiple occasions seen as a pacifist looking for the protection of the world rather than to fight any and all monsters that caught her ire.
'I truly hope you are how I think of you to be.'
Though dumb, Lucian really wanted Mothra to be like the queen titan he had always seen her as.
But he still had his guard up; he thought to act in kindness towards the monster he had come across not be a total dumbass.
As he went back and brought some water in a makeshift carrier, he slowly walked towards her while making some sound so to adequate alert her of his presence.
He is coming in kindness, he would rather not startle her by sneaking in.
"Argh."
His grunting woke Mothra of her sleep, and she turned her cautious and hardened eyes towards him.
He has seen numerous beasts in this world till now, and he had unmistakably seen that most had intelligence to them. Yet, they were always aggregation and savagery clouding their mind.
In Mothra's eyes he saw caution that was towards her own well being then in the way the rest of the monsters see each other.
This further showed how different she was to everyone else.
He stopped in his steps, not pressing in to convey that he is not here for a fight. And to then show the water he is carrying to show that he has brought it for her.
There was visible confusion in Mothra's eyes.
Which elicited a chuckle from him.
He then walked slowly to her, and reaching close, he let it near her mouth as he saw that she didn't have much energy to move.
Mothra didn't quit staring at him as if waiting for an attack.
When he didn't even after a long time, he proceeded to drink some water.
After taking a few sips, she hurriedly drank all of it.
'Easy, I won't take it from you.'
Looking at the wounds on Mothra's body closely, he started wondering what could have done something. Because by all means Mothra was not a weak titan. She is called the queen for a reason.
But all this could be thought later as something shocking that brought him to reality.
"Mothra."
Hearing the name of the queen from herself had him jaw slacked to the ground.
And more so when it was not her mouth that made any sound, but he heard it directly in his head.
