The origin, the cradle of life. Water.
It's the place where life on our planet as we know started.
The first cell. It birthed and survived in the bosom of the lifeblood of the planet.
Then it divided into ever more. And the rest then followed.
But it is not only the warm mother of life but also a dangerous place.
A lot of people underestimate the fact, that life has been present in water for far longer than anything ever stepped on land.
Nobody knows the dangers of the darkest regions of the planet.
And the not knowing it – the fact of the unknown is more nerving to some than to those who stay blissful in ignorance.
The monsterverse holds true to this, a lot of the most vicious beasts come from the depths of the blue.
Even the king of monsters is an aquatic monster.
In these waters, life is lost and born at an astonishing speed.
One such example of the danger in water was this carp fish that was swimming around the thick of weeds.
With her pale yellow scales camouflaging with the surroundings, the little fish was looking for something to eat.
While the sea weed was swaying softly, she didn't notice it was in fact slowly creeping around her, and then it snapped at her with rapid speed.
The thing she was using to cover her from the predators was going to be the reason for her end.
The carp was startled at being trapped and struggled to get out. Her struggle was for naught, but the disturbance attracted a piranha circling the same area in the weeds.
When the piranha got close it spotted the carp.
Piranhas are slow and mean creatures, so when the carp saw the piranha slowly swinging toward her. Her panic intensified many times.
Looking at the carp struggling so hard the piranha just slowly circled it while showing off its jiggered teeth.
The piranha could end the life of the carp in one bite, but it was sadistic in nature.
It moved behind the carp and took a bite at a part of her tale.
Then it swam around again just looking at the carp waging her bleeding half tail.
After a while when the carp had come to terms with her end and lost most resistance, the piranha took a bite into the side of the carp.
The pain made her thrash again. The piranha swam excitedly around the carp again, but when the blood of the carp started diffusing into the water, the piranha knew that another of its kind might come to fight for its meal.
So he was going to end the game and eat the carp.
But just then a loud splash sounded above and a strong disturbance inside the water interrupted the piranha.
With the disturbance in the water, a scent reached it, it was blood unlike any other and it drove the piranha crazy.
It forgot all about the carp and dashed to where the scent carried it.
The sea weed that had wrapped the carp had also released it and all the other fish it had been holding down for the piranha and launched upward.
The carp slowly fell to the bottom and watched upwards in her last moments before her closing death.
-
The bats had been successful in pushing Lucian into the waterfall.
Now past the edge of the land and free falling with the water, Lucian tried his best to reach out and grab something to hold onto.
But with the abysmal visibility due to the fast flowing water, he was not able to hold onto anything leading him to fall right into the water.
Now submerged with water all around, Lucian raised his hand to the surface, and using his core strength he pulled his back that was facing the bed of the water to now perpendicular to it.
He started to swim up while pushing his legs like he was climbing stairs.
But unnoticed to him the long sea weed came from the bottom and surrounded him and started wrapping his body.
He tore the first of the weed that wrapped around him but more just crept on him again.
What followed were fish coming from all directions.
Getting a closer look at the fish, he saw them having big eyes and sharp jagged teeth.
'Fucking piranhas.'
He started struggling and tore more and more weed, just for even many more of such sea weed to wrap around.
The piranhas and the weed were species that complimented each other.
Weeds trap the prey for piranha to feed on, and the weed in return uses the piranha droppings as nourishment for growth.
When the piranha reached Lucian they bit into him trying to tear a piece out of him.
But one of the major advantages Lucian had against a lot of the beasts in monsterverse is his godly tank physique.
His thick hide had helped him survive most of the fights throughout his time here.
And if not for the injuries that were previously inflicted on him by the kong and the burns caused by the bats, it would not have been possible for the piranhas to reach past his skin.
But with all the current injuries on him, the piranhas were flocking to the open wounds and making him bleed.
He was struggling to get out of the bounds and also crush any piranha that he can get his hands on.
The piranha goes into an unimaginable frenzy after tasting some bleed.
The piranhas had cut into an artery. Lucian was bleeding a lot from it, and as more and more left, he started feeling weak.
The physical feeling of weakness made all his previous bottled feelings came crashing onto him.
The feeling of incompetence was weighing on his being.
He had let down Mothra, he had let the kong beat him bent over.
He was sick of it, he was sick of always getting tested in this world.
He was sick of himself.
Lucian stopped struggling, he stopped his lame efforts that had not been working till now. He stopped tearing the relentless sea weed that was wrapping him, he stopped crushing the piranhas as it was not that much of a contributor to reducing the numbers of these sea hyenas.
He had his head down and stopped holding his breath. It was not necessary anyway.
He brought all of himself together then raising his head he roared through the water.
It had magically passed through the natural muffle of water and traveled far onto the land.
Lighting circulated throughout his body. His injuries were healing at a faster rate now.
And then it burst out.
The lightning from inside him was now traveling through the water firing and burning all that was in the water.
The range and impact of the lightning was not like when it had rained down on the kongs, but it was enough now with the water acting as a conduit.
All the crazy piranha had died with the weed on him and close to him had turned to ash, with the edges of the weed rushing back down to curl away.
Though to their misfortune Lucian was not going to let these roots get away, he followed it down and pulled all the weed out of the water bed and tore it to shreds with lightning still running through his hands.
After this Lucian swan back to the top missing to notice the carp with a damaged fin that had lost her life had bubbled a breath and was now looking at his leaving visage;
