Lucian swims with dead fish floating all around him, following him to the surface of the water.
His lightning had charged along the water, killing not only the piranha but with them a lot of accidental casualties.
While the strong ones or those at a further distance were only stunned, many fish had died.
Which are now floating to the surface as a result.
After breaching the surface, Lucian looked around.
Some animals who were drinking at the shore had been electrocuted.
But that was all, due to the distance they hadn't suffered a major impact from the lightning.
He saw that a lot of those whose shocks had subsided or those who had witnessed the other animals getting paralyzed were running away from the water.
He noticed that some eyes were peering at him while hiding in different corners.
They had probably seen him fall from the top and some were attracted by the commotion that followed.
Lucian swam to the land at the edge.
Reaching there when he walked out, his strong presence scared all the voyeurs into running away.
"Hm," Snorted Lucian, looking straight at the places he noticed them.
Not taking the strong show at face value, Lucian actually is very tired.
Physically and also mentally.
A lot of demons haunt him still.
Lucian looked to the top of the waterfall from above his shoulder.
"Wait for me, I will come."
The sun was coming low.
With the time it will take him to climb the waterfall, it will already be late into the night till he reaches the top.
Deciding against fighting in the presence of the moon with the species that is famous for being active at that time, Lucian walked away from the water and into the formation of boulders ahead.
Leaving the idea of not fighting the bats in the night, Lucian also needed rest.
One thing after another has been banging at him like a frat house at that one white girl there.
"I also have to figure this out."
Walking away Lucian looks at his raised hand.
*bz*
-
The next morning Lucian was sitting on a tall boulder. He had carried it here with the others after finding them near the resting place.
Closing his eyes in a meditative attempt with one hand over the other, both palms facing the sky.
Lucian was deep in focus facing the waterfall.
All the while he was in a meditative trance, pulling in absolute peace.
His surroundings tell a different story.
Debris from multiple crushed boulders, that if piled would make a small hill. And the ground had black patches with huge deep cracks, resulting from being heavily chared.
*Brr*
A blue arc formed above the palm of the top hand laying on the other.
No doubt this was the lightning that has been helping him at the most desperate moments for some while now.
With his concentration, the charged arc's condensed on his fingers.
He opened his eyes in a calm state opposite to the volatile current on his hand.
Lucian looked at his hand as the condensed lightning stayed on his fingers for some instances then it receded till his nails.
" Haa, leaving the moves that come natural. I can only cover my fingers with lightning, and that too with enough concentration that will have me killed if done in a fight."
Throughout the morning he had been experimenting with his lightning powers.
He had gotten some understanding about his powers now.
From all the previous instances of the observations he made, he realized the same answer that has been coming up for most of his questions.
Radiation.
It's radiation again.
He found that it is the fuel that powers his abilities.
"Is it the ultimate answer to everything, or just lazy writing." (An: we never know.)
He has identified some moves that just come easy to him.
Excluding the first few times, the more he performs them, the more they become like second nature to him.
Like the move he performed among the kongs.
It came to him as an all out attack, like an ultimate.
But in the beginning each time he used it, he would become dead tired.
Then with each use, he has become more accustomed to it, now he only gets slow with most of his energy drained.
And the move with the piranha felt more like a passive reaction of his body being in a critical state.
After activating it pumps electricity throughout him, giving a boost of energy at decisive moments.
The small lightning discharge that caused piranhas' extinction would have mostly startled or just stunned any average titan.
"So, they died just from the aesthetic effect of the passive.
Not gonna lie, in hindsight, it is pretty funny."
Adding some more that he has discovered from the morning, he has only these handful of abilities that he can confidently use in a fight.
"Maybe there are more and I have just discovered them yet."
Lucian knows how Op lightning could become, but he has been having a hard time realizing the potential in it.
"It will take more time and dedication to create all that cool stuff from fiction. Ha ha, and all that I have is time," Lucian laughed to himself.
"But first I need to settle some scores," looking up at the waterfall Lucian said to himself.
Getting down the boulder he walked to the water full of fish corpses with the sun high on his head.
Reaching the far end as the water fell like sharp daggers on his back he stuck his claws in to start climbing.
As he was about to climb though, something was brushing against his leg.
Lucian's expression hardened in anger thinking some of the piranhas had survived yesterday's massacre.
He dove down to find the bugger.
"I will eat you alive."
But he didn't find the piranha. What was there was a fish that looked as harmless as it could get.
He calmed down himself and also the rising momentum of lightning in him.
Coming out he just pushed a wave toward the fish, sending it a distance away from him.
Just for him to see the fish frantically come back towards him and brush her tiny head against his leg.
When he pushed her away, she came back again.
Even after a few times, he couldn't find why the stubborn little fish was rushing back to him every single time.
It had attracted his attention now.
He pooled some water with the fish in his hand and raised her to his eye level.
Now up close the fish looked to be a species of carp with yellow scales going along her body.
She was looking up at him and then excitedly swimming in his palm.
Looking at her body now, he saw how it had been heavily mutilated.
While some flesh of her side had been missing, what was more severe for just any fish was her tail, which had a big part of it missing.
It made him wonder how she was able to swim so fast.
When it looked at him again, he saw her eyes sparkle with joy and want.
"Do you want to come with me," Lucian projected this thought to the fish.
He had not gone mad. He knew that the fish would not communicate with him.
But he had learned from Mothra that all life has the ability to understand each other.
You can call it different things, like instincts or just hard codes of their DNA.
But they do understand and much more.
In a way you can communicate with any willing party with intent.
Though you have to do the bulk of the work and understand what is being conveyed by the intent of the other.
Much like an empath.
And what he felt from the fish was along the lines of the desire of want and dependence.
"I am sorry, you can't come with me."
Leaving how it will be possible to carry a fish around all the time. It was the experience of feeling like shit when he lost Mothra, that had him not wanting to take on another responsibility like this.
When he had conveyed his rejection, the fish had a sudden decline towards depression in her feelings.
But he knew he just couldn't take her away.
He then let the fish gently back into the water.
As he watched her just stay in a place now, probably falling into a spiral he turned to the waterfall.
Then at that moment an image flashed in his mind, he knew this was just not possible but he felt it would be the right thing to do.
He turned to the carp one last time and used all his mental power to flash a set of images with strong intent as most likely his last message to the little fish ever.
He didn't know for sure but he felt he saw a flash pass the eyes of the carp after he had conveyed his message.
"See you along."
