Sit aliquis vel nihil means "Be someone or no one."

The novel spans from the Aftermath of the Fourth Crusade to the start of the Hundred Years War.

The main character will face the years of battles, luxury, betrayal and peace, and his son will follow in his steps and become greater than him, however an unusual sickness will greatly affect the timeline and the future of the world.

Song Renzong Zhao Kuo heard about the murder of Jinghao, Minister of the Ministry of War.  He was very angry, but he knew that he was the emperor of the Song Dynasty.


 Emperor Wanyan Yongji of the Jin Dynasty believed that no army in the Song Dynasty could stop the attack of the Jin Dynasty army.  He believes that the cavalry of the Jin Dynasty is the most powerful in Asia.


 Xin Qiji stood by the Yangtze River. He said: "The cavalry of the Jin Dynasty army is indeed powerful. A hundred years ago, Yue Fei discovered the weakness of the Jin Dynasty cavalry."


 Shen Lian said: "Can our bed crossbows compete with the cavalry of the Jin Dynasty?"


 Xin Qiji said: "The attack power of the bed crossbow is very powerful. But we can't fight the army of the Jin Dynasty with only the bed crossbow. We also have cannons."


 Shen Lian looked at Xin Qiji in surprise.  He said: "The cannon is so powerful that the emperor forbids us to use it"

 Shen Lian also picked up a stone and threw it into the Yangtze River

 Xin Qiji said: "Shen Lian, do you know what to do as a man?"


 Shen Lian said: "I don't know, please tell me"


 Xin Qiji said: "1. You must protect your wife well.


 2. You must protect your son and daughter.


 4. You must protect every inch of ground under your feet"


 Xin Qiji sat in the sedan chair, and he said: "Always in sorrow and disaster can make people live, and often in comfort and happiness can make people die."


 Shen Lian said, "How can I become a wise man?"


 Xin Qiji said: "Wealth and honor cannot confuse his mind, poverty and humbleness cannot change his conduct, and power cannot bend his will."


 Shen Lian said: "I know, I will always serve the people of the Song Dynasty and be loyal to my motherland forever, and I will never surrender to the enemy!


 Xin Qiji laughed loudly and said, "You are a young man, and you are the future hope of the Song Dynasty."
