Ride Wit Me

Ride Wit Me

- Nelly & St. Lunatics -

======================

A week later, at 11 p.m., the cafe was already filling up with customers. Ruby has finished singing five songs, which she made into a long limp as usual.

It had to be a singer's skill if she wanted to buy time or when she was getting tired.

A little chit-chat with the visitor was done so that she could rest her vocal cords for a while, familiarizing herself with the audience. After all, the accompanying musicians were also happy when the chat session arrived. They could rest for a while before continuing their work.

"Okay, let's move on, shall we?" Ruby started in her singing position. Hand grabbed the mic. "This song is for those of you who are very focused on looking at life. Or... are you looking at me? Tee hee ...." She was indeed the smartest to stir the emotions of the audience.

Proved by some groans and naughty chirps from several angles. Of course, they were male voices.

Until now, there has never been a woman who has chased Ruby. Even if they watched a Ruby show, there were only a few options. First, invited by male friends or their partners. Second, being bored and in need of entertainment. Third, they were true music lovers who liked to wander from one cafe to another with live music bands.

Ruby's gaze was drawn to the mysterious man, who was once again seated near the stage. Still alone, accompanied by beer and snacks.

This man was very, very handsome, really similar to the good looks of a famous artist or an idol that girls are crazy about.

That handsome man always sat quietly at his desk without ever saying or voicing anything like other male visitors, who sometimes lost their composure when provoked by Ruby's body squirming or just a blink of her eyes.

This man was too elite. Or was he actually frigid? Or worse ... was he surely deaf?

Soon after that, Mariah Carey's song, "My All," which was full of mesmerizing and serenity, played beautifully even though it was sung in a relaxed manner. After that, it continued with a classic Chinese song that was sung by the seduced, spoiled voice of Ruby's character.

Approaching midnight, Ruby again held a talk session with the audience. She usually didn't respond to silly questions like whether privacy mattered. It was more of a public chat about what was trending or being talked about by many people.

After the chat session, she continued singing. ABBA's old songs were sung beautifully without any flaws.

Ruby deserved to be a famous singer. But she realized that she was no longer as bright as the young singers nowadays. Ruby was nearly 35 years old, although it's not too obvious.

Of course, no one would believe her if she revealed her true age. That's because she was good at maintaining her appearance and was always conscious of what she ate on a regular basis.

As a singer who only depended on vocal processing, Ruby naturally didn't touch cigarettes or alcohol. She only drank a little liquor on special occasions.

It made her dedication to the world of singing, even more apparent, and she was recognized even though it was only at the cafe level.

Wasn't there a record company interested in capturing Ruby's voice on tape? There were many of them. However, after Ruby weighed everything, she felt that she didn't fit into the recording world.

What about the phenomenon of artists on a well-known platform like Yutub? Ruby had also tried life as a Yutuber, and she quite enjoyed it.

Her income from the platform was also very supportive of her life, besides the results from the cafe. She uploaded a lot of her cover songs, assisted by the cafe.

She frequently sang covers of popular songs as well as a variety of everyday trivialities, which she also uploaded to her Yutub channel.

Even though she didn't reveal her personal life openly on that famous platform, Ruby was still able to get a lot of subscribers and viewers. She only uploaded her travels or when she ate at a place while giving a review of the food.

Just keep things light without the need to reveal her private life at home.

Approaching 2 a.m., the cafe began to be quiet. Visitors regularly left the cafe as soon as Ruby finished the final song at 1:27 a.m.

"Wow, drizzle!" said one of the cafe crew.

Ruby turned toward the cafe exit. In less than 3 minutes, it rained. "I have to hurry home before the rain gets heavier. Well, bye!" She said goodbye to all the crews and cafe staff. She was a singer who was friendly to all the cafe crews.

She walked past the mysteriously handsome man, who was still sitting calmly at his desk, and gave him a small smile. Just a friendly greeting.

After all, the man had come and paid for food and drink just to be able to watch Ruby. What was wrong with the girl in her mid-thirties flashing a small smile for the young man?

As soon as Ruby got into the car, the rain started to fall like it was being poured from the sky.

"Ouch, what a rain." Ruby sighed, and then she started the car. She wanted to get home quickly. On a cold day like this, she imagined a cup of warm chocolate would be delicious to sip.

Unfortunately, before arriving at the apartment building, the car suddenly felt strange. Ruby groaned. The right rear tire of the car was flat. This was the most annoying and troublesome thing!

"Oh, please, not now!" She cried angrily. She took out her cell phone to call her subscription car repair shop. No answer. It's only natural because it's too late.

Annoyed, Ruby hit the steering wheel. The hair was kneaded by two hands. Imagine that she had to work hard to change tires on a rainy, late night like this. There was no taxi. Really bad!

She gave up, got out of the car, and immediately her clothes were soaked, even though it had not been raining for 5 minutes.

Just as she was about to take the equipment out of the trunk, suddenly another car's headlights shone close by. She had to squint and covered her eyes so she could see who it was.

A man quickly got out of the car and half ran towards her. "Tire problem?"

Ruby was surprised when she saw who the man was.
