Main Horde Part 2

Nighttime 10:00 pm

Western Gate Battlefield

All forces gathered here, waiting for the Horde to arrive. Their numbers had diminished significantly, but their determination to protect and accomplish something great overwhelmed their rational thoughts and fear of the upcoming Horde.

The nobles who led their legions momentarily forgot the strength of their enemies and displayed their arrogance.

Amidst the sea of knights and adventurers, John stood there, bored from waiting.

"Why always wait when the battle involves a horde?"

From my experience, to win a war against a horde of monsters, you need to strike first, not wait, and engage in a siege battle. I should have taken the debriefing more seriously and proposed guerrilla tactics. I sighed and waited obediently, reviewing the strategy devised by the Captains.

The strategy was this, the adventurers, experts in monster confrontation, would surround the gate and defend it with all their might. Meanwhile, the knights would flank the enemy and diminish their numbers little by little. On the ramparts, mages and long-range combatants were stationed for bombardment support. The hunters introduced the strategy of bombardment support long ago, changing how war was fought in that era. The influence of those changes is still present and utilized today.

In this battle, the hunters offered minimal support by ordering a couple of hunters to take it seriously. As a result, most Hunter soldiers and Hunter participants retreated, leaving only a single professional Hunter to provide support.

In Hunter's view, a lone professional Hunter ordered to take it seriously was enough aid for this conflict, it is even considered overkill. However, this perspective differed from outsiders, especially those unfamiliar with a fraction of Hunter Power.

While deep in thought, a mixture of red and azure glow caught my attention. I looked around and saw everyone staring above with awe on their faces. Intrigued, I also looked up.

At that moment, I saw one of the most beautiful scenes in my life.

The night skies were dominated by countless objects falling from the sky like a meteor shower. The scene was eye-catching and beautiful but deadly rather than beautiful to me.

Each falling object was not a meteor but a missile launched by the Hunters Association Branch base from the east district.

"Here we go again," said the adventurer standing beside me.

I looked at the adventurer and discovered he was a middle-aged man, probably a veteran. He noticed my gaze.

"If I were you, I'd get down," he said, throwing himself to the ground.

The other adventurers followed suit, taking cover or getting down. In rare cases, some used barrier magic.

Seeing my surroundings bracing for impact, I also followed their example, lying on the ground comfortably like after an exhausting day.

As soon as my body hit the ground, a powerful and continuous bang spread throughout the battlefield. From what I saw, the rain of missiles targeted an area 1,000 kilometers away from the city, likely where the enemy was.

The earth shook, and a powerful shockwave swept in all directions, killing all creatures in a 300-kilometer radius and causing damage in a 1,500-kilometer radius, destroying windows and cracking walls and roads, mushroom clouds towering over thousands of meters grew in the distance.

The devastating destruction of the missile bombardment lasted over ten minutes before ending.

"Are those the fabled nuclear missiles?" a female knight asked.

Her friend responded calmly, "No! If a nuclear missile was launched, one would be enough to destroy this continent. Imagine if all those missiles were nuclear. What do you think would happen?"

The female knight gulped, her throat dry just imagining the destruction it would bring.

Her friend said, "The world would end if that were the case."

While the female knight and her friend conversed, the surrounding people showed different reactions, some shocked and afraid, some dismissing it as nonsense, and others unsure but considering the possibility.

I dismissed it. After all, in the eyes of a True Creator powerhouse like me, destroying planets is the power of an ant, and destroying the omniverse and all creation also falls under this category. So, it was useless to me.

I looked around and saw others standing up and helping their friends. A high-ranking knight barked orders, stabilizing the situation and giving instructions to fix our formation.

I followed the order obediently.

Later, the ground started to vibrate, and the sound of countless feet stomping followed.

On the distant horizon, countless black dots emerged, blanketing both air and ground. With my sharp eyesight, I saw those black dots were all Ambist. Thousands, tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, millions their number kept increasing, forming a sea of black dots on the horizon.

While focused on the large horde in the distance, I noticed the adventurers and knights around me growing tense. Their expressions became serious, and their presence sharpened, releasing killing intent as they entered their battle state.

I followed suit, took out a black great sword from my storage, and sat, waiting for the Horde to get close.

As soon as I sat and relaxed, someone noticed me. I felt a curious stare and turned my head to see a black-haired beauty exuding potent feminine charm. Her long, wavy black hair cascaded down her back reaching to her waist, and her golden eyes mirrored the wisdom and sharpness of a warrior who had faced many battles. With fair skin and a curvy, busty figure, she wore a black battle dress with a gothic aesthetic and red design, enhancing her beauty and elegance. She also wore a black arm guard and armor boots. A black sword with an intricate design hung at her waist. (Her Image).

I observed her for a moment and detected her strength, she was a level 8 individual, on the same level as Captain Seria, but stronger. I sensed a powerful innate skill deep within her soul, active and fully awakened. It's a pity she didn't know how to evolve her skills.

While deep in thought, the girl was also observing. Our mutual observation lasted a minute before we both stopped. Our eyes met subconsciously. She blinked in confusion, then smiled before averting her gaze.

I did the same, but my eyes lingered on her briefly before turning back to the horde.

The Horde paused on the horizon as if waiting for something to happen.

My magic sense was off, so I had no idea what they were waiting for. At the start of the battle, I never activated my magic sense during a battle as weak as this. I didn't want spoilers in combat, I am like an omniscient god within my range of magic sense, making me bored. I only used my magic sense for searching and scouting, rarely in combat like this.

With observant eyes, I watched the horde, trying to figure out why they stopped. It didn't take long to know why.

Above the sky, a massive amount of mana descended rapidly toward us, or rather the city.

The surroundings grew dark. Everyone in the city and its surroundings was enveloped by darkness, while the Horde on the distant horizon remained unaffected.

Everyone around me involuntarily looked upwards. Their fighting spirit collapsed, and their minds were on the brink of despair. This all happened within seconds after the Horde stopped.

I followed everyone's gaze and looked upwards.

"So that's why they look like they've seen a ghost."

In front of my eyes, a mountain with a radius of 20 kilometers, equivalent to a small island, fell towards us and the city, announcing its formidable presence.
