Clash 2

Empress, Zald, and the others fought fiercely to defend Alfia, who was focused on casting her grand magic. Though she could fight while casting, everyone chose the easier path, the same case for her.

Tad! Tad! The sound of footsteps reached their ears.

"Something was approaching, Zald!" Empress called out.

"Got it! Damn, it's Level 8," Zald responded.

In the distance, a Level 8 Ambist was closing in. This creature, known as the Ambist Prince, was a harbinger of terror, bringing devastation and natural disasters wherever it went. Destroying countries was mere child's play for this monster. The Ambist Prince stood 50 meters tall, humanoid, with pale skin. It had no eyes or nose, only a mouth full of sharp teeth. Its muscular, buff body sported four tentacles swaying like tails on its back.

Hearing Zald's exclamation, Empress said calmly, "It's all yours."

Zald was stunned by her words.

"Are you kidding? Do you want me to die?" he retorted, though his actions spoke otherwise.

Zald charged toward the Ambist Prince with a wild smile like a beast eyeing its prey.

Zald disappeared from his position and reappeared above the Ambist Prince's head, delivering a decisive blow to its neck with his Great Sword.

Sensing danger, the Ambist Prince raised his hands to catch the sword. The clash of powerful forces sent a shockwave through the surroundings, crushing everything in its path.

The shockwave destroyed everything indiscriminately, whether ally or foe.

Many Ambists tried to flee, but it was too late, they were all crushed.

Seeing the approaching shockwave, Empress retreated to her allies, swung her sword, and created a terrifying slash that split the shockwave in two, allowing it to pass without harming them.

Zald clicked his tongue and calmly transitioned to another attack, testing if he could land a proper blow. The Ambist Prince, however, retaliated directly with its fist.

"Shit!" Zald, still mid-air, twisted his body to dodge the punch, which narrowly missed him.

Zald knew the Ambist Prince would follow up, so he tightly gripped his sword and swung it down to meet the anticipated blow. Trusting his instincts, Zald attacked even before the Ambist Prince moved.

Midway through Zald's strike, the Ambist Prince grinned, clenched its fist, and threw a punch.

"Bang!"

Fist and Great Sword collided, sending shockwaves throughout the area, throwing man and monster alike into the air.

The ground beneath the Ambist Prince cracked like a spider web, splitting upward with violent force. Meanwhile, Zald, suspended in the air with a grin, held his ground against the Ambist Prince's fist with his Great Sword.

Their clash lasted only a second, but it felt like hours for them, thanks to the astonishing speed of their thought processes.

In that brief collision, Zald and the Ambist Prince had already formulated their schemes to kill each other.

Both retreated, creating distance before charging forward again like arrows. Sword and fist clashed repeatedly, creating shockwaves and further distorting the land.

Everyone watching the fight thought Zald was equal in power to the Ambist Prince, but they were gravely mistaken. Zald was merely holding back, testing if he could defeat the Ambist Prince without using his tramp cards.

While Zald fought the Ambist Prince, another monster charged toward them. A fast-moving, blurry figure tore through the horde, heading straight for them.

Empress, busy fending off other monsters, frowned as she sensed a strong monster approaching.

Out of the corner of her eye, she glimpsed a blurry figure launching toward her like an arrow.

Empress, the target of the attack, didn't panic. She calmly raised her hand as if to catch something.

In the next moment, a blurry figure, taller than her, appeared like a ghost. Without hesitation, it delivered a powerful strike, with residual force creating sharp winds that opened four large ravines on the ground.

A hand that didn't belong to a human appeared in her grasp, stopping the attack from moving forward.

Empress gazed at the monster in front of her and said calmly, "A gray, seven-foot humanoid wolf, huh? A Werewolf Ambist."

Seeing that its attack had been stopped by a mere human, the Ambist Werewolf grew annoyed and wanted to smash her head.

The Werewolf Ambist raised its hand and threw a series of punches, all of which Empress blocked.

"Tsk," Empress clicked her tongue, irritated, and killed the Werewolf Ambist with a single swing of her sword.

"Are you not done yet?" Empress asked.

"I'm done here," Zald replied, stepping on the fallen Ambist Prince.

While the two finished off the nuisances, Alfia's grand magic rapidly approached its final stages.

A vast amount of mana erupted from Alfia's body, raising dust all around. Silvery, misty mana enveloped her like flames to a torch.

Her mana continued to rise at an alarming rate.

The ground cracked, and powerful pressure bore down on all creatures within a mile.

Alfia spread her hands and began to chant the final verse of her spell.

Suddenly, her erupting mana vanished. A momentary silence fell, with only her melodious voice remaining. Little by little, a small red sphere of fire formed in front of her.

As soon as the small red sphere of fire appeared, the temperature rose drastically, burning all the plants and scorching the ground within a couple of miles. At the same time, a blinding red light pierced the night, illuminating hundreds of miles like a beacon in the darkness.

"Retreat!" Empress shouted urgently when she saw the small red sphere.

Everyone hurriedly retreated, ignoring the charging monsters chasing them. Their pursuit was short-lived, as the monsters' faces soon showed horror. Their instincts screamed that death was imminent.

Every monster in the vicinity frantically retreated as if something terrifying was about to happen.

Alfia ignored everything around her and continued chanting. At this stage of her incantation, only a few entities could harm her, and they weren't present.

She sang her chant until it ended.

Her eyes suddenly opened, revealing her beautiful heterochromatic irises.

"Grand Magic Red," she intoned. With the final chant complete, the small red sphere of fire slowly fell toward the ground.

"Ting!" A resounding sound echoed as the small sphere of fire hit the ground.

A blinding red light erupted, followed by a massive laser beam of fire that swallowed everything in its path, obliterating it.

The massive laser beam, 20 miles thick, moved forward at the speed of light, traveling 186,282 miles per second.

In just three seconds, the beam penetrated countless mountains, destroying forests and rivers, splitting the ocean, and continuing until it pierced the atmosphere, disappearing into the vast darkness of outer space.

The laser beam lasted for 10 seconds before subsiding, leaving a massive ravine stretching to the horizon.

Alfia stood firmly, looking at the destruction she caused.

She remained there for a while before rejoining her allies. Their fight continued, eliminating many monsters as time passed.
