CHAPTER EIGHTY TWO
I stare at Damon, not knowing whether he's joking or being serious.
“I died?” I test the words on my tongue, finding them incredibly unbelievable. “But I’m alive.”
“Yeah,” Damon. “And Kayla brought you back.”
My eyes fall on the still form of the child, “Is she-?”
“She’s fine,” Damon follows my gaze. “She collapsed after she saved you. I nearly thought she was dead till she started snoring.”
I stretch my arms and I’m surprised by how normal I feel. It doesn’t feel like I just had a near death experience.
“How is that possible?” I murmur.
Damon is silent and then he looks towards the sleeping child, “She was hysterical. When your heart stopped beating that is.”
Eric looks a little rattled, “All that power in that tiny body. It’s a miracle she didn’t combust.”
I swing my legs off the small bed and look at the two, “Can somebody walk me through what happened?”
Although, physically I feel fine, my head is still a little fuzzy.
