Chapter Ninety Three

CHAPTER NINETY THREE

My body is moving before I can think but Damon is way ahead of me.

He gets to Aliya just as a dark figure hurls itself in her direction.

Aliya raises both her hands in the direction of the vampire.

Darius.

I remember his name.

Her lips are moving but Darius’s mouth is open, his fangs bared as he rushes to sink them in Aliya’s neck.

I see the panther push Aliya out of the way, before whirling around, his own teeth bared.

He doesn’t hesitate, going after the vampire with the ferocity of a wild animal.

Darius jumps out of the way, and ignores the panther, jumping into the trees and making another attempt at Aliya.

Aliya, it seems, has put her entire faith in Damon as she keeps chanting, her hands in the direction of the vampire.

However, her magic doesn’t have any impact on him and I can see the visible frustration on her face which is growing by the minute.

And then I hear a panther roar.
