Chapter One Hundred and Six

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SIX

Damien’s words have me shivering and once he leaves, I sit up in bed, huddling my knees against my chest.

What does he want from me?

What do any of them want from me?

There is a knock on the door and I look up, expecting either Fera or Damien. To my surprise, it is a young girl. Once again, she too has a human like appearance.

“My Lady? May I enter?”

My Lady?

I feel flustered at the term and stare at her, “I – Yeah.”

When she enters, I see that she’s wearing something that looks like a uniform but it’s quite feminine. So far, I’ve not seen any single horrific looking demon, like the kind I saw when we were attacked.

She doesn’t even have horns.

But then neither do Fera or Damien.

“I am to serve you from today,” The girl says, her voice polite but distant.

“Serve me?”

She nods politely, “I was sent to be your hand-maiden.”

“My what?” I gape at her.

She coughs discreetly, “I am to take care of all your needs.”
