CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY

Seeing the fear in Mara’s eyes is the most satisfying thing ever.

She kept saying how Damien would hurt me or would never believe anything against her, but clearly it was a lie. However, something does trouble me.

Is Damien really going to punish his fiancée?

I find that a bit hard to believe.

While Fera did say that Damien did not love Mara, being engaged does not always have to be out of love.

“What are you thinking, little wolf?” Damien murmurs to me. “You’ve got such lines on your forehead.”

He pokes me and I bat his hand away.

“Mind your own business.”

“That’s exactly what I’m doing,” He twirls a lock of my hair around his finger, bringing it to his lips. “I consider every part of you my business.”

It’s the way he says that, his eyes glinting in a burning heat that makes me flush and look away, “Forget it.”
