CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY SIX
His tone is so dismissive that it takes me aback, “Y-You do?”
I move my hand only to gasp out in shock and pain.
My forearms. They’re burning!
“You have been harmed,” The child’s voice is filled with a vicious anger, one I can’t focus on at the moment.
Both my forearms are throbbing in unimaginable pain and I swallow a sob, “Why is it hurting here? I’m dreaming. It shouldn’t-”
My voice cuts off when I hear the cracking thunder sound, “What-”
The sky is a pitch black and when my eyes swivel towards the child before me, his own eyes are flashing in ruthless fury, “They will pay in blood.”
I try to speak, to give him some information to find me but my voice is not working. It takes me a heartbeat to realize that my hands are fading.
I’m waking up.
My mouth is moving but nothing is coming out.
My eyes fly open to a searing pain in my lower abdomen just as something hard makes contact with it again.
